Finally! A list of BLM demands!

Colin Kaepernick refuses to stand for national anthem.

"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color," Kaepernick told NFL Media after Friday's game. "To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder."

Fuck you Kaepernick!

Dwayne Wade's cousin killed in Chicago yesterday. Homicide #462 for the year. BLM isn't concerned...they would rather concentrate on shootings of armed criminals by police.

If you go to their website the first tab is the "donate" tab. My guess is the people that started this "movement" are getting rich off of it.

And you would be correct...

based on the level of outrage (none) it's safe to say he wasn't shot by a cop.

Just for some clarity...his cousin was a single mother of 4 who was not the intended target but an innocent bystander.

According to a news article, two brothers, Darwin Sorells, 26, and Derren Sorells, 22 ? were both on parole and affiliated with the Gangster Disciples gang. Derren Sorells was just released from prison two weeks before Friday's shooting. He was convicted in 2012 for a motor vehicle theft and escape from custody, but was released early. He had six felony arrests in his background. His brother Darwin Sorells was also on parole for a felony gun charge. He was sentenced to six years in prison in January 2013 and was released from prison earlier this year.

The main source of income for this gang is drug trafficking.

I wonder if he was released early because none of his convictions were for violent crimes. To my knowledge - perhaps our resident ambulance chaser could shed some light here - illegal firearm possession is not considered a violent crime. The gun control crowd decries how violent firearms are, yet illegal possession of one by a known gang member isn't an indication he or she is a violent criminal. To them, it's totally unreasonable not to mention, grotesquely racist (because the justice system would only apply this line of thinking to minorities) to presume a member of a violent street gang like the Gangster Disciples with multiple felony convictions could be a threat to society. If only we could prevent employers from asking about criminal history on job applications - young Derren probably would have been at work that Friday night or in bed resting up for work the next day.

Just because I advocate for shorter sentences for non violent drug offenders and first offenders doesn't mean that nobody deserves to go to jail, which is the reach you're trying to make with this Willie Horton style anecdote. There are a lot of non violent crimes that deserve jail time, just because I don't think that someone should get 10 years for selling cocaine for their first offense doesn't mean that all non violent crimes should be 6 month sentences, a convicted felon carrying an illegally obtained firearm is an offense that requires a lengthy sentence.

It's very typical of you to be so caviler in how you mock the difficulty of ex convicts finding any meaningful employment. It's very easy for you to sit on a high horse and mock them, but that struggle is real and they often turn back to an illegal economy after they strike out over and over again in the mainstream economy. Obviously someone like you would think this is a joking matter.

I support Kaepernick in his right to speak his mind, I don't remember Muhammad Ali in his prime but I assume he'd do something like this too. Of course the San Franscisco PD sounds off about this, I'm sure you loved this letter

What about black on black crime? right, we can't deal with two problems at the same time. Never mind that an investigation into the SFPD showed tons of racist texts exchanged between officers.

I'm sure you won't read all of them but here are some highlights

BACK IN MY DAY WE DIDN?T HAVE VIDEO GAMES. WE WENT OUTSIDE AND BEAT N? WITH STICKS,?

one with a picture of a white man spraying a black man with a hose saying
?Go be a n? somewhere else.?

We got two blacks at my boys [sic] school and they are brother and sister! There cause dad works for the school district and I am watching them like hawks."

In response to a text asking "Do you celebrate quanza [sic] at your school?" Furminger wrote: "Yeah we burn the cross on the field! Then we celebrate Whitemas."

In response to a text saying "Niggers should be spayed," "I saw one an hour ago with 4 kids."

Why on earth would Kaepernick think that cops could be racist?

I have somewhat come off of my "fuck you Kaepernick" stance after his second interview. I 100% agree that he has the right to voice his opinion, I just don't like the way he is doing it.

As far as there being racist cops...unfortunately, there are racist people everywhere. A few racists cops doesn't mean all cops are racist. Just like a handful of unjustified shootings doesn't mean every cop is a bad cop. I 100% agree that if a cop has an unjustified shooting they should be punished. He was bitching about them being on "paid vacation" until they figure out what happened....he can blame the unions for that.

Seems like these communications are between the convicted dirty cop Ian Furminger and four of his cronies.

So it's safe to conclude that these five cops are racist assholes.

Furminger is going to jail and the other four should be fired.

I don't care very much what Colin Kapernick does or doesn't do.

Also my understanding is that people who are doing a job at an event where the national anthem is played for the audience, technically it's not considered bad etiquette to not stand at attention.

A few commentators are pointing out that the third verse of our national anthem (which is not typically played) celebrates slavery, and beating the British so we can recapture the slaves that fled to them. What a great country!

Bill O'Reilly thinks slavery was "no big deal." "They were well fed" he said.

asshole.

let's be clear here - I'm not mocking convicts, I'm mocking you.

Bill O'Reilly thinks slavery was "no big deal." "They were well fed" he said.

asshole.

I just watched the O'Reilly clip. Primarily, he was retelling a story Michelle Obama recently told about slaves participating in the building of the White House. I don't think she said anything about how well how well housed and fed they were though.

Why O'Reilly felt the need to add that is beyond me.

let's be clear here - I'm not mocking convicts, I'm mocking you.

Mocking me for advocating that we do a better job in creating job opportunities for ex convicts so they're less likely to commit more crimes.

Mocking me for advocating that we do a better job in creating job opportunities for ex convicts so they're less likely to commit more crimes.

in this instance, I'm specifically mocking the belief that known gang members with multiple nonviolent felonies, especially drug dealing and illegal firearm possession aren't violent people until they actually harm or kill someone and therefore it's some great injustice that they get locked up for multiple counts of drug dealing or other inherently violent criminal activities.

in general though, first I presumed that you support the efforts to keep questions about criminal history off of job applications then I mocked you for thinking criminals have a right to privacy the supersedes an employer's right to properly vet applicants, protect his or her business, property, him/herself and other employees.

everyone wants to give convicts opportunities and yes it's harder for them to find jobs, but actions have consequences. It's harder for them to find jobs because of what they did, employers have a right to know that and factor it into the hiring decision.
