Galarraga retires, wants to be a coach

Should be in the record books. It sucks for a guy who is below average that he doesn't at least have a perfect game to hang his hat on.

Well he did say he will probably be remembered longer because of what happened than if he had actually been credited with a perfect game.

Maybe now. 20-30 years from now, young kids yet to be born - oh well.

I would say it's a safe bet that he cares less about how long he's remembered and more about the actual accomplishment. At some point it would be nice to look in the record book and see your name under the very short list of perfect games in major league history.

The way he handled it should be remembered longer than anything.
