Another week, another loss for the Detroit Lions. They were competitive again. They held a lead again. They lost. Again. This time a 27-17 loss to Denver that pushed the club to the No. 3 pick in the draft.

It also gave the Lions the worst overall record in the Super Bowl era after going unbeaten the first three weeks of the year, a mark that stood for 50 years.
It was held by the 1969 Cincinnati Bengals until today, when the Lions broke it with one week left.

If the lions were any good I?d have really been pissed about those two BS calls against em in the 4th but since they blow, and we want them to lose anyway, I just laughed and said good lord the NFL even fucks us when they don?t need to just to rub it in!

the biggest thing I learned from this year is that Stafford really that that bad, wasn't impressed with either back up QB much. Drizzle didn't throw it down the field enough and Bough is terrible at avoid pass rushes and doesn't step up in the pocket at all. just Bloougghh, the offense really misses Stafford. IF he doesn't retire the team should be able to contend next year. The teams #1 priority should be to fix that GD non existent pass rush

I was at the Broncos game yesterday. Lions are truly a very bad team and Patricia looks lost. Broncos started 0-4 but seem to have a QB in Lock and are headed in a very different direction than the boys in Honolulu Blue.

It was the same shoulder that ended Tavai's senior season early at Hawaii and required late-season surgery, Lions coach Matt Patricia said Monday.

Patricia said he did not know how much the injury would impact the offseason workout program from the linebacker.

Tavai?s rookie season ends with 58 combined tackles, 2.0 sacks and one interception.

Tavai joins fullback Nick Bawden, guard Joe Dahl, defensive tackle Mike Daniels,
linebacker Jarrad Davis, quarterback Jeff Driskel, wide receiver Marvin Hall,
defensive lineman Da?Shawn Hand, tight end T.J. Hockenson, linebacker Christian Jones,
wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr., wide receiver Jermaine Kearse, defensive tackle Darius Kilgo,
quarterback Matthew Stafford, defensive tackle Kevin Strong and guard Kenny Wiggins on injured reserve.

There was no immediate word on how the Lions will replace Tavai on the 53-man roster, but one candidate is Birmingham's Anthony Pittman, an undrafted rookie out of Wayne State on the practice squad.

The linebacker has been released twice and re-acquired by the Lions, and he said Monday he'd welcome the opportunity and will prepare for it like always.

Lions linebacker Steve Longa said "I thought I got pushed" on the personal foul call on him in the fourth quarter when he hit Denver's Diontae Spencer on the sidelines. It appeared from replay that Broncos' linebacker Josh Watson did push him, but the refs flagged it anyway.

The Broncos recorded their highest pass block win rate of the season (84%) today. It shouldn't come as too much of a surprise given that their opponent, the Lions, have the lowest pass rush win rate of any team on the season (24%). (Win rates are ESPN metrics that use Next Gen Stats data).
