Tigers vs. twins Game Preview / Gameday.

Tigers offense actually leads the AL in one category...triples.

They have 39 with 5 games left, only the DBacks have more in MLB with 41.

They have struck out an MLB-leading 1556 times

In nearly every other AL batting category, they are dead last, and some by large margins.

No other AL team is below: .700 OPS, 600 runs, 400 walks .400 SLG, and .300 OBP.

twins have the fewest stolen bases by far with just 26, the MLB average is 74.

Twins lead 6-3 in the bottom 5th, Tigers RISP w/one out.

Dixon tripled and scored on Migwell groundout for their first run, team now has 40 triples on the season.

Kittens TBDNS.

Willi legs out a triple with one out in the bottom 6th, scores on Reyes rbi single...6-4.

Tigers tie DBacks for MLB lead in triples.

Cisnero gives up a 2 run homer to schoop, team's 300th on the season, back up to a 4 run lead 8-4.

Kitties have less than half of that total, @ 145 homers.

Clownshow on IF allowing runner to score from first on grounder to short...and its 9-4.

Zimmersucks blows again. What a bum.

I hope Cisnero finds a new team too.

Just a few more games and the misery of 2019 is over.

Team is in need of a coach that can teach defense. But then, team is in need of a many a things!

Have a feeling that in '20 we will be saying "what fresh hell is this?" about 40 games into next season. Tigers braintrust won't be fielding a significantly better team on offense/defense with little in the minors to help it improve, and Ilitch being loathe to spend much in FA. If they improve by 10 games or more, it will be mostly b/c their SP roto and BP will pitch much better.

So moving ahead to 2020. What is the Tigers plan? Lose the 1st game and keep on back stroking?

They might have better pitching, maybe..but you need offense to score runs.
As you posted earlier, look at those putrid offensive numbers.

Last call of the game and season @ CoPa for the Kittens, down by 6 10-4.

Migwell Ks looking.

RonRod flys to left.

Lugo flys to right.

Kittens swept, lose their 3rd straight, are now 46-112.

They are now only -11 runs away from tying the infamous '03 team's -337 Rdiff @ -326...unreal.

4 games left on the road @ white sox.

Look at the fail agent market, Harper's nags are fighting to stay above .500, Machado's 4th place pods can not be happy. My computer is giving me fits today, I got a couple of screens open to axis and allies videos. But any way FA has not been a great way to build a team. At least big money players. But with the way this team drafts got go that way with some players.

Ballclub is waay too far away from contention to sign any top flight FAs anyway.

They could use a couple mid-range and low, although they would become trade bait by midseason if any produce...so...

They need to do find those players that another organization isn't giving a chance or hasn't provide the right coaching. The Luke Vogt, Mike Tauchman and Gio Urshela type acquisitions. There is talent to be had every year. Heck, even Niko Goodrum types would be wanted.

Twins 10, Tigers 4: Comerica Park closes out 2019 in appropriate fashion.
Both teams got their hits in, but the Twins did what division winners do.

Detroit Tigers fittingly lose home finale, 10-4, as Twins hit 300th home run.
Half the time the Freep and Mlive post the game summary with an Associated Press story instead of Fenech and Woodbury.
