Game 158 Tigers vs. twins September 26, 2019

Incentives? Are they kidding? How about fielding a competitive ball club?

Why spend 10s of millions unnecessarily, when they can continue to dupe the majority of their fanbase into believing that their so-called "rebuild" is an ongoing success, and competitiveness to contention is just a few more top prospects being promoted away? In the meantime they will still reap $$$ from media contracts and MLB profit-sharing.

Tigers plan incentives after recording lowest attendance since 2003.

Attendance woes.
The Tigers' first season in Comerica Park was 2000, and 2019 was their second-worst year for attendance:

2003: 1,368,245

2019: 1,501,430

2002: 1,503,623

2018: 1,856,970

2004: 1,917,004

2001: 1,921,305

I would be very surprised if attendance doesn't slip closer to, if not drop below the ballclub's '03 attendance total by the end of next season, "incentives" notwithstanding. From what I have read online, most Tigers fans are pretty fucking pissed @ witnessing yet another embarrassingly horribad Tigers team epic fail @ historical level.
