Marlins 6 - Tigers 3: Close just doesn?t cut it, Tigers drop 8th straight.
The Tigers? offense got going early and Daniel Norris pitched a quality, start but the losing streak still continues.

Is it too soon yet for taking up the "Tanking for Torkelson" #1 draft pick chant?

Btw, Torkelson has a teammate I wouldn't mind taking in this years draft at 5. He's an OF.

Tigers have lost eight games in a row on same homestand for first time in Comerica Park era, according to @baseball_ref. Tigers haven't gone winless on a homestand of nine or more games since September 1996.

He better hit like Miggy in his prime if the Tigers were to take him #1. I would REALLY love to have a great 2 way player on this team...not just another first basemen/DH that can hit.

Surely you don't think that this will be the last season in which the Tigers' brain trust trots out a team that inevitably earns a top 5 pick? The issue is that they have been piss-poor @ identifying, selecting and developing talent in the succeeding rounds for many years, if not decades.

If I was a highly ranked college soph/junior/senior amateur, I might seriously consider not signing with the Tigers, if I was chosen by them in the later rounds. Why sign with a pro-franchise who has such a shitty record of churning out desirable/notable everyday players with longevity,, much less talented future all-star performers in MLB?
