Miguel Cabrera diagnosed with ?chronic changes to his knee? as the result of a long career, according to Tigers head athletic trainer Doug Teter.
Jason Beck
oh boy...I would rather it be something that could be fixed with surgery. This sounds like "you are old and your knees are pretty much shot"
He should have added "as the result of a long career and being overweight for a good portion of it"
What do you consider as overweight? He is no where near Mickey Lolich or C.C. Sabathia "overweight. At 6'2" and 220 lbs, I am considered "overweight" by my doctor, but family and friends scoff at that notion. I realize media guides are not the truth, but Miggy is listed at 6'4" and 240 lbs. My BMI is 28.2. Anything over 30 would be what I would consider "overweight". If Miggy was truly 6'4". he could weigh 250 and just barely be at 30 BMI. For reference, the military will not deploy anyone over 40. There are soldiers, sailors and airmen routinely over 30 BMI.
