You only call that play dead if the defender is unchallenged to the QB. Griffin was literally just standing there, no reason to call it dead.

He wasnt unabated and he didnt make contact. The whistle was absolutely wrong.

Yep. Defender either has to make contact with an offense of lineman or be unabated to the quarterback. He was neither. Another bullshit call.
