Tigers vs. twins Game Preview.

Following yesterday's game, the Tigers optioned RHP Zac Reininger to Triple A Toledo. Detroit today has selected RHP Carlos Torres (#19) from Triple A Toledo. To make room for Torres on the 40-man roster, INF Josh Harrison has been transferred to the 60-day injured list.

3-1 twins after one...didn't see how Carpy gave up 3 runs to start the game, but the Tigers rally in the bottom of the inning was cut short by a Nick C sacrifice GIDP.

Carpy has a much better top second inning, setting the twinks down in order.

Dixon leading off the bottom second hits one to the deepest part of CoPA CF, but not deep enough.

Harold C Ks swinging...whenever I hear or read that name, I always think of the character (portrayed by the late "Harry" Dean Stanton) niced "Brain" ("Don't call me Harold!!") in the old '80 "Escape From NY" movie.

Tigers also go down in order...still 3-1 after 2.

Nelson Cruz has been a big thorn in the Tigers' paw during his entire career...hits a single and is 2 fer 2 already.

Moves to second and the twins have a RISP w/2 outs in top 3rd.

Carpy digs himsel;f out of his jam on a foul popout to left.

Tigers go down 1-2-3 on Ks in the bottom 3rd vs odorizzi.

Looks like the team has returned to their normal and customary punchless self for now.

buxton singles 1st and 3rd RISP no outs.

Stewie misjudges deep FB, then recovers and makes a flailing catch running at the back edge of the warning track in LF.

buxton scores on a rosario single...6-1...annnd buh-bye to Carpy, who gave up at least one hit to every twink batter.

Will this team ever win a home series again...much less split a 4 gamer?

Based on their lousy wreckord...they will win about 1 game out of every 3 on average...and that may get worse if the Tigers can offload one or two of their best performing pitchers prior to the deadline, and maybe Nick C even afterwards if he starts hitting for career average.

No matter what record that the presumed ALCD title-winning twins wind up with @ the end of this season...they will very likely meet up with their postseason kryptonite NYY in the ALDS or ALCS.
