They will get less value than had they traded him last season before the trade deadline when his value was at it's max.



Greene is at his highest value as well. There is no point in keeping him.



At the rate he is pitching, Boyd's arbitration salary is going to jump real high. A luxury this team cannot afford. Better to trade him and have another team experience his arbitration years, possibly signing him to a team friendly extension.
