Actually wasn?t a bad game to attend, thought they would find a way to blow a 12 point lead but it didn?t happen. Ford Field was surprisingly active and loud (at times) yesterday.

Stafford so great. 105 qb rating for 6th best without a run game. Another big day despite the pick. Seemed jones ran wrong route too

Defense made a few plays. Davis fumble for kennard score, coleman break up for turnover on downs, red zone stand, 2 flowers sacks. Barkley and Tate are good and Dlayton made some great catches in coverage

Came down to special teams. Giants running into punter and missed xp was the difference. Prater did miss a fg too. Good to see lions on winning end

Detroit Lions Podcast Episode 237 ? Detroit Lions & New York Giants Post Game Show. 98 minutes.

In this live episode of The Detroit Lions Podcast, Chris is joined by Detroit Lions subreddit moderator, Punk Rawkin? Trev. We fire the studio up discuss the Lions home loss to the New York Giants and take your calls. This was a game the Lions were expected to win, though the New York Giants were able to field their entire offense for the first time this season. That offense included Lions fan favorite Golden Tate ? he definitely gets some talk time. This was a solid win for the Lions, but it still left fans with some questions.

Detroit Lions Podcast Calls This A Foundational Win.
Even though the Lions were projected to win, Lions fans know every game has its opportunities for disappointment. The Giants were able to make it seem like a game during garbage time when they came within 5 points of the Lions. They chose the inevitable onside kick, but luckily the Lions played it perfectly and the ball rolled out of bounds. Nothing like ending the game in the victory formation. This win brings the Lions record to 3-3-1 with a number of winnable games ahead.

In a return to our happy place, The Detroit Lions Podcast doesn?t need to provide a therapy session after this week?s game! There are still plenty of things to take away from this game that the team needs to work on, but for the most part, the team quieted doubters in the short term. As is always the case, we take your calls and discuss the team?s performance in today?s game. We are also asked to think about the team in a broader perspective by a few callers ? well worth the listen. It?s a big show, with a lot to discuss, and the next few games will define this team.

Patricia: Tracy Walker is day-by-day.

Patricia said Glasgow may have suffered a "minor" injury.
Didn't seem overly concerned about his health status.

Lions LB Devon Kennard (@DevonKennard) returns a fumble 13 yards for his 1st-career touchdown.
This marks the first time a @Lions linebacker has returned a fumble for a TD since LB Stephen Tulloch did so vs. Minnesota on Dec. 11, 2011.

Lions LB Jarrad Davis records his first sack of the season. His now has 9.0 in his career, tied for the 10th-most by a @Lions linebacker in team history.

Lions QB Matthew Stafford throws a 49-yard TD to WR Marvin Hall (
@bigplayhall_A2N). Hall becomes the first @Lions player to record a reception of 45+ yards in 3-straight games since WR Bill Schroeder did so in 2002.

Lions QB Matthew Stafford topped 100 passing yards in the 1st quarter in each of the last 3 games. The only other time in his career he topped 100 passing yards in the 1st quarter of a game in three-straight weeks was in Weeks 14-16 of the 2011 season.

Lions DB Tracy Walker (@TracyWalkerIII) is the first DB in the NFL since 2012 to post at least 55 total tackles, 1 interception and 1 forced fumble in the first 7 games of a season.

Lions QB Matthew Stafford has thrown for at least 190 first half passing yards in three of the first seven games this season. The last time Stafford accomplished this feat was during the 2013 season.

Lions QB Matthew Stafford throws his 2nd TD of the day to WR Kenny Golladay.
He had passed QB Drew Bledsoe (251) for the 21st-most TD passes in @NFL history.

Lions WR Kenny Golladay (@kgxix) records his 5th TD of the season.
The all-time leader in first down percentage for the @Lions, Golladay's first three receptions of the day have all resulted in first downs for Detroit.

Lions QB Matthew Stafford has passed Hall of Fame QB Joe Montana (40,551) for the 19th-most passing yards in NFL history.
Stafford reached this mark in 148 NFL games, faster than any player in NFL history.

Lions QB Matthew Stafford throws a 41-yard TD pass to WR Kenny Golladay.
Stafford now has 21 career games with 300 yards & 3 TDs.
Golladay is now 1-of-6 players in franchise history to record at least 450 receiving yards in each of their first 3 seasons.

Lions QB Matthew Stafford now has 16 passing TDs through the first 7 games this season.
The franchise record for most passing TDs through 7 games is 17, set by QB Bobby Layne in 1951.

With @Lions WR Kenny Golladay?s (@kgxix) 4th quarter touchdown, the team ties a franchise record for the most 100-yard receivers within the first seven games of a season.

Lions QB Matthew Stafford has thrown for 300 yards & 3 TDs in consecutive games for only the second time in his career.
The last time he did so was in Weeks 15-17 of the 2011 season. No other @Lions QB has multiple streaks.

Lions CB Justin Coleman (@JustinColeman27), with his one pass defense, becomes the only player in the NFL to record 10 pass defenses, one interception and one forced fumble in each of the last two seasons.

Lions DE Trey Flowers (@III_Flowers) recorded full sacks on consecutive plays in the 4th quarter yesterday. He becomes the 1st @Lions player to record full sacks on consecutive plays within the same drive since DT Kelvin Pritchett did so on Nov. 24, 1994.

Among all NFL players, @Lions WR @kgxix currently ranks:
- Tied for the most rec. TDs (6)
- Tied for the most multi-receiving TD games (2)
- 2nd with an 87.1 1st-down %
He & Calvin Johnson (2011) are the only Lions with 30 rec., a 16.0 rec. avg. & 6 TDs thru 7 games of a season.

poetic justice? Tracy walker goes down the week after we trade diggs lmfao. Nothing explains the lions more than that. Im not even trying to LKP this thread....we should legit be 6-1 based on how we lionsed the game away vs the cards, chiefs and pack. Theyre losers...so they are 3-3-1. New Ocord, genius coach....same ol losers.

Offense is solid when Stafford has great games...where the fuck have i heard that before?

Defense at this point cant create pressure with a front 3 or 4. Need to blitz 5 to see any resemblance of pressure. Send 5 then no one can cover. Defense is fucked and i dont see how it can be improved. Kennard and Okwara are terrible. Davis can run straight fast...thats about it. Tavaii blows his gap assignment multiple times a game. They are a mess. Our only hope is Austin Bryant is the second comming of LT and gets in a game one of these weeks.

Agreed they should be 6-1. If just talking ref errors 5-1-1

Walker injury not as bad. Day to day. Hopefully that is the truth. Can't lose Walker now. Slay and Walker hurt. That's just a disaster waiting to happen.

Some pressure this week was big. See what they can at Oakland now with Hand back. Hopefully Daniels back soon too.

In Stafford?s seven games this season, he has had a quarterback rating over 110 in four of them, with his 129.4 against the Giants being his highest. His second-half performance on Sunday was close to perfection, as he went 12 of 12 for 148 yards, two touchdowns, and registered a 157.6 QB rating, only 0.7 away from a perfect score.

Daniels......didn't know he was on the team. Have they called his name even once when he WAS playing?

I just looked. 1 solo tackle and 1 assist in 3 games.

John Atkins has played 3 games.....he also has 2 tackles.

Facts are facts......Flowers has been fucking terrible rushing the passer. He has statistically been less effective than Okwara has been. Kennard is a backup at best and he starts. Daniels, A'Shawn and Snacks have all been bad.

This team will only IMPROVE if our D-line starts to play better. I absolutely hate Patricia's scheme right now, but he can only do so much when his DLine is playing like 4 undrafted rookies out there.
