Well...that sucked, too.

At least the sux didn't score on that brainfart, either.

Never thought I’d say this, but I wouldn’t take Hardy out of the rotation. He’s been much better as a starter and he’s trash as a reliever. I heard talk of him going to the pen when Liriano gets back.

Joe Jimenez with carrer save #2
I suspect there will be many many more in his long term future

We’re going to need to come up with a good nick name for our future lights out closer here

Boxscore.

ROARS
Blaine Hardy: Outside of the solo home run, only one White Sox runner made it to third base against the lefty.
Ron Gardenhire: The veteran Tigers manager has done a great job putting Hardy in a position to succeed over his run of starts, keeping his pitch counts low and rarely letting him pitch deep into the order for a third time.
Nicholas Castellanos: His third home run in two days provided the scoring margin.
The bullpen: Continues its run of unexpected competence.

Finally got that 2 games under .500 or worse monkey off their backs.

But just hovering around .500 by mid-June, especially minus (usual) Miggy would have been unthinkable 6 months ago. Even with playing mostly sub-.500 teams who they should competitively win series against. Need to win the next series @ Reds, grab the .500 brass ring of mediocrity, and keep the pressure on the underachieving Indians.

I can say enough how much I like this team. Still don’t expect much by the end of season, but it’s been fun watching them so far.

Send Zimmersuck to the bullpen.....in Toledo.

Final line for Tigers Francisco Liriano in Triple-A outing: 4 IP, 11 H, 8 ER, 0 BB, 7 K, 2 HR. 83 pitches (56 strikes).

7 k’s and no walks in 4 innings are probably the important stats. Means he had control. I’m not too concerned with the 8 runs in a rehab start.
