Alcantara in to pitch bottom 8th.

Sets the tribbles down 1-2-3...BP did well in this game...too bad that the Kittens couldn't provide any run support to this point.

CL hand in to pitch the top 9th.

Dixon flys to right.

Niko singles to shallow center.

RonRod singles to left.

RISP again.

Hicks foultip Ks swingin for the seaties.

Lugo nogo Ks swinging....Tigers lose, are SHO, and lose their 11th series since the beginning of May.

How many games have they been SHO in now? 9? 10?

Wonder what the franchise record is for being SHO in a season.

It looks like I didn't miss anything, Tigers can't hit a minor league pitcher,

Looks like a 100 loss season around the corner in late September...

Can't wait for Mercer and Harrison to return...then their lineups will often suck ass that much more.

Tigers could have signed every retired positional player that they have had since 2011, on one year contracts, and they would have provided a better show @ the dish than this squad of sad-sacks.

Tigers are now 19-43 (.306) since their 7-3 start. The math = .306 and a 49 win season.

With more than a third of the season being in the books, this team has shown us fans who and what they really are and the only questions which still remain, is just how many games above 100 that they will lose by the end of this season, and what top 5 pick that they wind up with among the other 100+ loss team tankers. Trading Greene and Boyd would have an impact, but also dumping Nick C would be rather negligible, given his overall performance.

The DLed Candelario, Greiner, Mercer, and Harrison are players who are actually a net liability when penciled into a lineup card, team would be better off if they remain on the DL for the rest of the season. But if considering that potentially higher draft pick, letting them play as often as possible makes more sense. Other than the marlins, the reason for the other top tankers has been due to their poor pitching, not so much hitting and scoring runs. The marlins pitching staff and defense have allowed more than 50 fewer runs to score than the Tigers have so far.

All of the other top 5 teams of whom the Tigers are vying against for the #1 pick in next spring's draft, have played in as many as 5 (royals-orioles-blue jays) and at least 3 (marlins) games more. The Tigers are now tied with the cellar-dweller royals in wins with 26, but their divisional rivals have 5 more games in the loss column.
