Niko doubles in the 2nd inning, Scherzer can't no-hit the Tigers.

Castro lines out to left in a 10 pitch at bat,

So Jimenez comes in and gives up a home run.
Wtf happened to him?

2 - 1,

The difference in team/coaching philosophy .. Both SP doing well their guy throws 115 pitches our guy gets taken out before 90.

Zero series wins for June...Congrats Tigers...you could hardly have sucked more this month.

Tigers allowed Scherzer to walk via FA, w/o trading him prior when the brass had to know beforehand that another ballclub would pay big $$$ to sign a recent Cy winner. The nats sure got the better deal in FA for their respective former SPs, and in the trade that they did make with the Tigers to acquire Fister, who also was a certain goner had he reached FA....albeit more likely with a WC ballclub which he had expressed a desire to sign with.

Yet despite his individual accomplishments and bigly contract, Max has won no postseason series with his current employer, much less a ring, and in the latter case may never will, ala Migwell.

It's amazing and alarming how many of the high price free agents do not take there teams to the world series. How ever it real simple to explain, there are more free agents than the ONE team that can win the only world series that happens once a year.
This year list of the top 10 money makers, starts with
1 Strasburg at 38.3, and he got an opt out
2 Scherzer at 37.4 man the nays are shelling out the big bucks.
3 Greinke at 34.5 4th year of six good to be a pitcher right
4 Trout at 34.1 5th year of 6 year extension. And may never be a FA now.
5 Price at 31.0 like I said good to be a pitcher. WS winner
6 Kershaw at 31.0 No FA yet
7 Cabrera at 30.0 and the big bucks are yet to come. not a FA WS before current team.
8 Cespedes at 29.0 He be the 4th Tiger/formal on the list. Not a FA
9 Verlander 28.0 of which the Tigers are paying 8 million what the heck. Not a FA did get a ws
10 Pujols 28.0 Two years to go Angels go. Ws before current team.

Out of these 10 players only one has given his team the ring. as an Free Agent. Granted not all have FA yet but I think it shows money does not buy the ring most of the time.
And Tigers have had or have FIVE of these guys!

Scherzer has proven that he is a stud. Zimmerman has proven that he is a POS. It has nothing to do with team/coaching philosophy.

But he's thrown lot of pitches before and he was doing well. So now they pitch him less when he does well? That's one of the reasons why this team is where it is..

Seems like when guys leave Detroit they do a tad better then when they are here. I guess upper management is to clueless to see that. they will be lucky to win 60 games this year. Man I wish this team would be sold to a owner who gives a shit. They are unwatchable right now.

Hope is not completely lost..

Playoff Odds: <0.1% to make postseason, <0.1% to win World Series

or, since he is coming off of an injury to his throwing elbow, they want to take it easy on him.

His first 3 starts since coming back

4 IP, 79 pitches
5 IP, 84 pitches
6 IP, 89 pitches
