Tigers' Grayson Greiner suffers setback, shut down indefinitely; Josh Harrison on way back.
Detnews
Somehow missed seeing this post last night.
1) Grayson Greiner is and will always be only worthy of career AAA fodder @ best, losing him for a longer, if not season-ending stretch is basically addition by subtraction.

"When second baseman Josh Harrison decided to have his left hamstring tendon surgically repaired in early June, the chance of him getting back before the end of the season seemed remote."
"Not so remote now."
"Harrison, who has been working out and maintaining a physical therapy regimen in Lakeland, Florida, could be starting on a rehab assignment soon."
?Josh is doing great,? Gardenhire said. ?We just had a plan written out on him. He?s going to start playing, maybe eight games or so. We want him to get 35-40 at-bats.?
"If everything stays on track, Gardenhire said he expects Harrison could rejoin the club at the end of the month when they go to the West Coast and play at Seattle and Anaheim (July 25-31). Harrison has been limited to just 36 games this season."

2) Ala Greiner and his ex-pirate IF compadre Mercer, Joshy has been a huge net liability when he was healthy enough to play. Where is the need to rush in getting him back in playing shape ASAP?
I would be very shocked and truly surprised if either one even gets a minor league signing offer by another ballclub next year. IMO, they both have vividly demonstrated that they are all washed up, and certainly don't belong anywhere near any MLB team's 25 man roster, or taking up space on a MiLB AAA roster.
These 3 Kitties are like ordering Spaghetti-Os and boxed wine @ an upscale cuisine Italian restaurant.
