Dang DP witth guy on 3rd. Somehow I read a graph % wise the Tigers were best at scoring a runner from 3rd with less than two outs. My eyes may deceive me.

Tigers have been doing that all the time. It's called a groundout with the runner scoring, the Tiger version of an rbi hit :).
