This is the second time you have said this, do you have any data or proof that 50% of the people in this country don't know who the Vice President is?

Because I'm willing to bet a good majority of them think he's the devil who wants to take their guns, and they know exactly who he is.

Well, it was off the cuff to show how absurdly unknowledgeable many supposedly educated (non-dumb) people can be. Half is just a number to mean lots. In 2009 Stephen Crowder did some polling on the streets for entertainment, and many people who he interviewed could not name the VP. I never said it was scientific, but having something that should be completely obvious being not known by "not-necessarily-dumb-people, was the point. The poster did not seem that uninformed to me. Obviously you thought he was, though.

Have you ever seen - Are you smarter than a 5th grader? I rest my case on this point. You can continue to bash on this statemnt, but personally I think I made my point.

I only mention the Geneva convention because You, said it was a "declared war". You opened that can of worms, good sir.

Hey it is what is supposed to apply if they are prisoners of war, right? The Supreme Court seemed to think they are covered by it -at least in some aspects - and that was of course after Bush declared they had no such rights.

Depending on their actual status, they are either covered by our Bill of Rights, or by the Geneva Convention. . . . or neither in cases where we just want to get rid of them.

As Champ has stated - I am completely ignorant of the status of these detainees, although many "statuses" have been defined. There is current legislation right now trying define/re-define their status (at least for some of them_ so they can be "disposed of". They have at least 5 classifications for them and the list is growing.

"declared war" was obviously (as I have said) by the other side. I am absolutely sure I didn't know there hasn't been declared war in the US since WWII. Just more of my ignorance. Whatever.
