. Got my flight, Hotel, and bought 3 spring training tickets online. Florida Southern, Atlanta, and Toronto games at Lakeland. Will walk up for one game in Clearwater to watch the Phillies. Can't wait, will take pictures and post when I get back.

That is great John. Warm Florida weather and up close with our Tigers.
Look forward to your pics and thoughts on how they look.

what do hotels run for, during spring training? just a ball park figure.

Lakeland, Fl. motel/hotels. Lots to pick and choose from.
wow what a huge link.
edit. looks like many are booked.

I saw quite a few ST games over the years including the Tigers playing @ Pittsburgh but I've never seen a game at Lakeland. We used to rent a place in Punta Gorda area and Lakeland was a bit far. Hope the weather is good for you.

Not quite as envious of anyone going to FL during March/Spring Training or Break this year, and I am not feeling so "cabin-fevered" as much as I usually do by this time in winter, b/c...well...this hasn't been very much of a "real" winter and the weeks that it could drop into the single-digits and stay there are now long past.(although the potential of snow-storms and deep-snow days here in SE MI aren't over as yet)

The northern portions of the Great Lakes didn't even get much, if any in the way of shoreline ice either, so they all (including Lake Superior) will warm up much more quickly as/if the weather does this coming spring and summer.

I am staying in Tampa actually and it is $160.00 per night. I am using my honor points and my cost is zero for 6 nights. I travel a lot so I save my points up and use them.

I don't go for the weather, I go for the baseball. The players are more accessible as the atmosphere is no pressure. However, I love to swim in the ocean if it is warm enough.

You can sit over by the bullpen and joke around with the players. I always get them laughing. Todd Jones was always my favourite to goof on, I think he had a thing for my wife or I should say my wife had a thing for him. She used to be in love with butt chinned Mike Henneman back in the day. She will be all wet over Liard too, she was waaaaayyyyy to happy when he came back. So the week in Florida, my name will be Gerald in the heat of the night.

Was seriously thinking of heading to Florida but decided to stay here in Arizona. Will be taking my granddaughter to the March 15th Indians-White Sox game. Could be interesting in that I might see where these two central division franchises are headed, I guess.

The tickets came in the mail over the weekend, just need to pack. Yeah baby
