Gotta Feeling Mayhew..

I cant say I see a wr or a dlineman. Not in the first few rounds. But Mayhew will take BPA within reason.

I have to admit, nothing Mayhew does at this point would surprise me. A QB, a DT, a punter... nothing.

I wouldn't necessarily agree with it, but when he says BPA, I get the sense he means it.

He takes calculated risk. Depth at a Dline position that was good but not really deep was worth it and it paid off. Depth at a very strong receiving corp where the guy wont start or get much playing time is not in reason.

Agreed Motown, but he's also said he loves building to his strengths, so you really never can tell.

Mayhew and Schwartz both seem to have the belief that you will never be strong at every position, so it's better to be overly strong at a few than weak while trying to be perfect.

i don't know, i could see them getting a WR in the middle rounds (if he can return kicks) but outside of that, i'd be shocked if we took one in the first two rounds.

I wouldn't be shocked if Mayhew took a long snapper in round one at this point, but I'd sure what to know what scout evaluated him a 1st round talent?

I could see a wr in the 4th or 5th maybe 3rd. I could also see a TE or a LB in those same rounds. Because they are special teams guys. But first and second if all works out where we draft you will see a pretty even grade with a couple of guys at different positions. You dont generally see a top tier Wr fall to the end of first. You will see an oline or cb evens up with other players and then it will fall to need imo. Unless there is a huge drop and then maybe you see a trade.

I definitely think it's strong enough until Nate's departure. I'm just kind of thinking outside of the box right now. If a can't pass talent is there at a position that's either aging or under performing (MM eyes) that seems stable, it wouldn't be crazy for Mayhew to pop.

I dont disagree but Nate has a few years left especially since I think next year you will see more of Titus in the two role taking some hits off of Nate. I just dont see a wr dropping that far. You have blackmon in the top ten and Floyd top fifteen maybe 20. Then its kind of a toss up.

Yup. It would take Floyd dropping or them being incredibly high on Stephen Hill. CJ and Hill as deep threats opposite each other would be scary with Titus, Grew, Nate and Scheffler running underneath.

Stephen Hill was the other name I was thinking. If he is graded as high as we all think he is and he falls that would be incredibly hard to pass on. But then you are really looking at a lot of money tied up in the Wr position.

the 23rd pick in the draft doesnt cost much nowadays. Burleson is gone in 1-2 yrs...Hill would be a shocker but the thought of CJ, Hill, Titus for years to come would be nuts.

Im not talking now I am talking in 4 or 5 when you need to give Young new contract and a year later Hill. If they all play well you are looking at CJ, Yound, and Hill all getting straight paid. Makes the rest of your team really week.

Think about this on the other side of CJ.

Ok Screw it Im in. Im over the defense and a complete team. we dont need that shit.

I bet this kid would be a Top 10 pick if he didn't play in a triple option.

If we draft this kid, I think I shall nickname him Starscream.
