Grandy 2007

And he become a .250 40 HR hitter. Comerica he'd be a .230 30 HR hitter.

Last 3 years away:

.256 BAVG .345 OBP .501 SLG .846 OPS 19.82 PA/HR

This is includes 2 years while with the Yankees. Additionally, Comerica increase BAVG for players. But, as most of us know, BAVG is not a good indicative stat, unless you are trying to show hand/eye coordination.

At 19.82 PA/HR, that is 34 HRs. However, here is the current Tiger's Away rates over the same period:

Granderson 19.82
Cabrera 20.0
Fielder 21.27
Raburn 25.21
Kelly 26.36
Martinez 29.09
D. Young 32.42
Boesch 33.86
Peralta 34.29
Avila 37.85
Infante 54.69
Laird 74.33
Jackson 77.89
Santiago 103.60
Dirks 122.00

Only Cabrera, Fielder and Martinez have a better OBP and also OPS.

Regardless, we got the better end of the deal. He become one dimensional. He even looks bigger. You figure with some easy home runs he hits, his average would be a bit higher. You saw that his last year here, he hit 30 home runs the year before and saw himself as a home run hitter.

So far, I agree with you guys...and the Tigs did get the better end of the deal.

If AJ continues with his new stance and Max continues his consistency (so far so good as of late) its a big win for us.

And whatever happened to Granderson's defense? He's not even average anymore. While AJ lead the entire ML last season with a 3.4 defensive WAR, Granderson was -0.3 and even worse this season at -0.8.

Back in the days of "who's better....Granderson or Sizemore?" Grandy was great defensively. AJ has been good since he has been here but he does make the occasional bonehead play.

What? Granderson wasn't considered great here. He was good, alright but not great but now he's less than average, sub par. And when does AJ make a bone head play? He's the best CF the Tigers have had in a long long time.

He's been more than good.

Don't forget Phil Coke who is a very solid LH reliever.

I would not call Coke solid, not this year.

At times he's fantastic, and others he terrible, to the point of not being able to get lefties out, and righties murder him.

The problem is you never know which Phil Coke will show up, over the total time we have had him he's been good, but this season, I cringe everytime I see smokey point his left arm at the BP.

I tend to agree. At times he comes in vs a lefty and he can't get him out. Which is really his sole purpose.

Except Smokey continues to let him face right handers too, and RHH are .363/.416/.550/.966 <- that's completely unacceptable.

He really should be a LOOGY now.

He had a rough May but other than that he has been pretty good. He has been really good this month.

Those numbers are atrocious. That's HOF numbers.

He's been good this month based on what? Please don't tell me you're using ERA alone?

In July, Coke has given up 9 hits in 9.1 innings pitched. .265/.324/.412/.736 is not terrible, but I don't think anyone would call it "really good".
