Out indefinitely, but at least no surgery is required.

Man this kid was looking great and this is such an unlucky blow.

damn. He's already my favorite Tiger and he hasn't even played an official game them yet.

Detroit franchises are sadly cursed.

Injuries re-shape the Tigers Opening Day roster.
We have fun debating these things each spring, but so often fate intervenes. At least Spencer Torkelson is now locked in to debut on Opening Day.

More info on Riley Greene?s fractured right foot, per source: The fracture is on the bottom part of his foot, which could mean a slightly shorter recovery period. Preliminary timetable is 6-8 weeks until he?s able to play again. Likely will have to rehab in the minors for a bit.
Cody Stavenhagen

If they say 6-8 I'm expecting 12. They've already been pretty patient, they'll take their sweet time getting him back to speed I think.

Miguel Cabrera on Tigers prospect Riley Greene?s foot injury: ?That hurt a lot. I think he?s ready. We got to wait two months now. But he?s going to be with us when he recovers. He deserves that. He had a great spring training."

This sucks but this injury will push him another year away from free agency. We'll be happy about this when his walk year is bumped and we get another prime season

THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY.
Totally Tigers

The surprise signing of Austin Meadows pre-empted the usual Watercooler Wednesday so let?s catch up today and find out what Tigers fans are feeling.

The Tigers have now announced their Opening Day roster and will carry 28 players for 1 month due to the shortened spring training. It is expected that those extra players will be relievers.

A number of players are on the IL but expected to re-join the team when they are fully rehabbed. As a result, at least a couple players currently on the roster will return to Toledo.

The team is currently missing such essential players as Spencer Turnbull, Jake Rogers, Riley Greene and several pitchers due to late arrivals to camp. And now, Jose Cisnero is on the 60-day IL.

The Tigers added to their outfield and starting pitching rotation. Their infield has been almost completely revamped.

Lots of changes have been made and the roster is definitely better than last year. But which area concerns you most ? and why?

Is it lack of depth? Offense? Defense? Lack of experience? Inconsistent performance?

Use all of that in your evaluation.

Which area of the roster concerns you the most?

1. Starting rotation

2. Bullpen

3. Infield

4. Outfield
