Misc Observation

Believe it or not the Tigers aren't actually still in Last place. The Royals are a half game worse. I just realized the name Guardians still contains all the needed letters to spell Indians. The woke victims will need to back to the drawing board on that name and try again.

Tigers top prospect Riley Greene to begin rehab assignment Friday with Low-A Lakeland.

Tyler Alexander threw two innings to hitters today in Lakeland, A.J. Hinch said. He's on track to make a rehab start for Mud Hens on Monday at Columbus.

Eduardo Rodriguez played catch today with no symptoms reported. He'll need to stretch out to 150 feet before getting back on mound.
"Once we get him on the mound, we can pick up the pace pretty quickly because of the limited time that he's been down," Hinch said.

Will Vest has tested out of COVID protocol and is back with team, though he remains on IL. He'll ramp up work and pitch in a rehab game before returning to Tigers bullpen.

Austin Meadows (vertigo) has returned to physical activity the last few days in Florida. He hit off a high-velo pitching machine and ran on field today in Lakeland.
"That's a good sign," A.J. Hinch said. "That's the most activity he's done with no symptoms to date."

Joey Wentz left yesterday's start for Toledo after being struck in the shin by a comebacker. X-rays showed no damage. He's a candidate to start for Tigers as their 27th man for Tuesday's doubleheader vs. Twins, A.J. Hinch said.

"Over the course of a season you're going to use 11, 12, 13 starters," Hinch said. "But one after another for various reasons, whether it's a broken finger to an oblique issue to a shoulder issue to an elbow issue, we've covered about anything a pitcher can injure at this point."

Geez Candy just missed a grand slam foul down right field.

Can we get a refund on Baez?

Feeling some buyers remorse.

Maybe lemon laws?

He is a very undisciplined hitter. Story took a long time to start hitting and he came around with a bunch of home runs and hits. Coming from a different league takes time for new pitchers even with inter league. Maybe Baez will come around some what. We can hope, Like Avila will get moved to a cushion job like Smokes and that Ilitch will sell the team to a better owner.

Man if Spencer could just start hitting. His defense seem above average to good at first.

Ridiculous Soto can?t get that call on the 1-2 pitch. That was close enough to be called a strike.

Soto top of the ninth

Foul out to first
1 out double.

I'm just surprised it took pitchers 8 years to figure out all they have to do is throw him an outside slider, and he will do the rest. But yeah, i'm hoping its a new leauge thing too, but we are 1/4 of the way through the season.

Miggy has 10 more hits than any other Tiger this year ..

Don?t think tonight?s 3 hits are in this. So at 42 hits. Can?t believe he is our best hitter at his age. . This just shows what a poor Job Avila has done putting a team together.

Whats even more shocking is he has almost .100 point higher slugging % more than baez right now. And he is leading the team in slugging %.. ugh...
