Tigers GM Al Avila, in his meeting with reporters today, said manager A.J. Hinch has no opt-out in his contract nor is there any "handshake agreement" allowing him to opt out.
"It's a very straightforward, simple, normal contract."

So much for the rumors created by Lynn Henning that said Hinch could opt out after his 2nd year. Henning re-tweeted about the Avila presser but conveniently omitted this subject.

Hinch: "When guys are on base and he?s conducting an at-bat, is there any doubt that he?s got a plan? I got asked if anyone can learn anything from him and I almost laughed out loud."

The Tigers (34-47) swept the four-game series from the Guardians (40-40) and have a four-game win streak for just the second time this year.

They?ll play their next 14 games on the road beginning with four-game series in Chicago against the White Sox. The opener is Thursday at 8:10 p.m. Eastern time. They won?t play at Comerica Park again until July 23.
