Hilariously bad Republican Art

also: I think the plane is missing the UN building.

since presumably the artist, like Conservatives generally, hates the UN, this was another dig at Obama? He's maybe saying a good president would have Air Force One fly a suicide mission into the UN?

I'm not sure if this or Pulp Fiction is the most overrated movie of all time. Training Day would be a distant third to whichever comes in second. It's probably Independence Day because that movie was just stupid while Pulp Fiction was slightly entertaining just nowhere near as good as it's hyped up to be.

This alone makes Independence Day worthwhile:

also the golf clubs.

not sure who the tipped over bronze bust in front of the desk is supposed to be.

And "free abortion on demand?" restrictions generally only increased during his tenure...

I don't get why there's a toilet over there. we had toilets before and after Obama's presidency.

Occupy Wall Street was sparked partially by Eric Holder's "too big to jail" policy declaring he wouldn't go after bankers for the massive fraud underlying MBS-es in the 00's. people only started protesting once it became clear Obama wouldn't hold banks accountable. ... but I assume the artist was okay with that, in which case he should be happy with Obama, and his law enforcement people for going after Occupy. Not sure why he included Occupy in the piece.

what federal restrictions on abortion increased during Obama's tenure?

He probably included Occupy because Obama was more than happy to let the protestors sit in forever. It was shut down by local police, not the DOJ and it was done because of the rampant criminality, unsanitary conditions that resulted in the spread of disease, nuisance, noise pollution, actual pollution, etc. It was also "shut down" or fizzled out due to it's lack of a coherent message/purpose and general laziness of the deadbeats actually occupying, raping, openly defacating, abusing drugs, stealing from each other and regular citizens trying to go about their day.

No, I think he's "buzzing the tower" like Maverick in Top Gun, as SpartanMack conjectured, as a salute to his UN buddies.

I just noticed Obama's christmas tree has a crescent on top, not a star or an angel.

Maybe that's why the artist described it as "subtle," Gulo

I don't think that's subtle either. It's probably like the piccolo part of the 1812 Overture. Probably not subtle, you just miss it because of the din.

Well, that sort of thing would typically be done by local police. There is no general federal police force that would engage in everyday law enforcement; the FBI, the DOJ, ICE, the Department of Homeland Security, etc., are law enforcement agencies, but they specialize in things that aren't just daily policing and law enforcement.

I know. the claim was made in the quoted post that not only did Obama's inaction spark Occupy (as if it was a rebellion against Obama's policies) but that Obama and his law enforcement people went after Occupy. I was merely pointing out that this was clearly not the case. Obama did nothing to prevent, stop or punish the Occupy movement in any way. Just un-revising revisionist history.

I saw Pulp Fiction in Ann Arbor on mushrooms ..it was awesome! What a classic movie - funny to watch it now, though. Along with Reservoir Dogs, great movies but from a certain era when movies were shot in that way.

Also lump in Mall Rats, Clerks, Dazed and Confused and Chasing Amy into that remark - movies from the early-mid 90s that were a certain style that was unique to that period and different from the retreads of today.

I saw Reservoir Dogs when I was living in Aspen as a ski bum and Pulp Fiction in Chicago in my early/mid 20s. At that age I was na?ve and def thought they were better than they were. I remember thinking RD was a lot better (still do), both maybe even a little edgy for their time but the idea that QT got "snubbed" by the academy for PF is nonsense - but that was the consensus of a lot of its fans. PF is pretty much just gratuitous violence for shock value set to an decent soundtrack - way overrated, definitely not best picture material by any stretch. Kill Bill is probably worse - I forgot about that one, but I don't recall it being as hyped as PF.

I thought Pulp Fiction was funny. It was viewed as a big comeback movie for Travolta; there were good performances by good actors playing off beat quirky characters.

Whether it deserved an Oscar nomination, who knows? Those awards are all pretty subjective.

i could see an actor/actress winning an oscar - there were some good performances and it was funny at times but the beef over not winning best picture from Tarantino and fans of the movie is way off base.

edit: the movie did win an oscar for best original screenplay
