History mounting against Obama

I thought Obama had raised more campaign funds. Isn't that a stronger historical case than "The country has never elected three consecutive two-term presidents"?

How many times is this same thing going to be recycled and posted?

Ha, ha.

Obama is such a typical cookie cutter, garden variety President, too, bucking historical trends is something that's pretty hard to imagine him doing.

I will be voting for him!!!!! I cannot imagine the federation under another Republican..
The military industrial complex is hard at work trying to secure the Mitt and his cronies the mansion. Just think if he wins he will probably start World War III before 12/21/12 just to prove the Mayan's wrong!!!!

I think Romney actually has the edge now; certainly if you add in all the dirty Super PAC money from Sheldon Adelson, Karl Rove's "Crossroads" Super PAC, etc.

Be prepared to be bombarded this fall by a cavalcade of scare tactic ads on TV, the likes of which you've never seen before.

the only thing is... like the stupid "Jeremiah Wright - Obama hates white People" ads the Ricketts' family patriarch was going to re-hash before it was ridiculed in the media, there's not much they can trot out this time that will really have much of an impact. I think a lot of it will only lead to a backlash against Romney.

I mean, it's clear to most Americans with an IQ above the tsmiths of the world that Obama has governed as a center-right president his first term; social spending/domestic spending has been stagnant, or even declined from what it was under Bush... taxes have stayed low... defense spending high... we killed the boogeyman, Osama Bin Laden. Our foreign policy has been exactly the same as that of Bush, so much so that even Dick Cheney and other right wing hacks have praised him.

So to hear the GOP attack Obama for being too leftist, or doing a bad job means what to most voters? We need to move even FURTHER to the right? That leaves us near Mussolini I think. I think most Americans would reject that.

Obama turned out not to be a Muslim, Kenyan Revolutionary, Communist, Socialist, etc.

So... what can they really attack him on that will resonate with voters? All this ad money might be counterproductive in the end.

Ads aren't pushing that line, at least not yet. I read an article somewhere saying that the Karl Rove Crossraods people recognized that the people that were susceptible to those lines of thinking have already made up their minds. It pointed out that the 1st national ad getting lots of airtime focused on kids moving back in with their parents, unable to find a job after college...something that resonates better with moderates/undecideds.

that's really the only line of attack that might resonate with the swing voters who matter.

I still think most of them will say, "Yeah, our lives suck, all that debt we took on from 2001-2009 is still with us, and we voted for Obama because we thought he'd be a case for reform; a real democrat, pro-union, pro-jobs, etc. etc. but you expect us to believe that Romney, Mr. Leveraged-buy-out - layoff workers - cut salaries & benefits in order to pay investors a huge dividend is going to improve things in that regard???"

then they hold their noses and vote for another term of the status quo...

Campaign financing and this superpac BS pisses me off. Strict campaign finance laws should be hardwired into the Constitution. Capitalism is driven by economic inequality while democracy is a pursuit of political equality. When money can buy political power, the economic inequality prevents political equality. Capitalism defeats democracy when money can buy political power.

I've probably said that before, probably recently. It's been on my mind a lot lately.

Red why do you hate freedom of expression and the people of America?

"For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath." - Matthew, 13:12.

Ain't nothin' exactly new goin' on.

It's very difficult to maintain a meaningful democratic component of a government. Nothing new, but the superpac ruling is a step backwards.
