How you would have done it

Please place all your woulda shoulda couldas here!

To start i heard we declined a trade option to trade down to 10. If thats the case it was dumb. Would have done that in a second and targeted Warmack or Fluker and grabbed the extra pick to cover the DE and CB needs. Warmack, Slay, Damontre Moore plus the extra pick somewhere in there would have been a solid draft.

with no trade my picks would have been:

1) Dee Milliner CB
2) Tank Carradine DE
3) Larry Warford G (probably our best pick of the draft)
4) Devin Taylor DE (like the pick for depth)
5) Kenny Stills WR
6) Kenjon Barner RB
7) Brad Wing P

I also would have had Khaseem Greene OLB early 4th instead of Tahir "Main man on the bench" Whitehead.

I just hope Whitehead starts and impresses us all this year. I will admit it was a bit hard to swallow that we didnt have a 4th rounder because it was spent on a guy that rode the pine all year.

1) Ansah, Ziggy DE
2) Hunt, Margus DE
3) Warford, Larry OG
4) Robinson, Denard WR
5) Kush, Eric C
6) Barner, Kenjon RB
6) Williams, Michael TE

I wouldn't have traded any picks at all. Gone with the hand we were dealt.

1) Ansah (one of my least favorite picks, but the right one at the time)
2) Menelik Watson
3) Larry Warford
4) Kahseem Greene
5) Barret Jones
6) Brad Wing
7a) Rod Sweeting
7b) Chase Thomas

Actually, looking at it, I think Mayhew had a better draft than I would have.

I really like Chase Thomas as well. Too bad the Saints picked him up as a UDFA.

Wonder why he wasn't drafted?

You guys are sleeping on Slay, the guy lives in recievers hip pocket. Tackling is average throw yourself at his legs db style, needs to turn his head a bit more. Never gets beat clean, never. One time I saw it, offensive pass interference by Corderelle Patterson, other than that he shut him down. Speed to burn, rising like a mofo pre draft wanted by the Giants and Falcons bad, maybe trade up bad. Xanders pick for me, can't see MM admitting his truckstop cd bin grab last year wasn't going to cut it.

How were you getting Jones in the 5th? He went in the 4th before our 4th rounder.

Yep, you're right. Reason #2 Mayhew had a better draft than me, I'm trying to take guys that were already taken.

Next year I'm drafting Ray Rice in the 3rd.

1. Tavon Austin WR
2. Robert Woods WR
3. Terrance Williams WR
4. Ace Sanders WR
5. Denard Robinson WR
6. Corey Fuller WR
7. Brice Butler WR

If we could've had Barrett Jones at all though included with our other top 3 picks, that would've made me ecstatic with this draft. Overall, can't complain. Our top 3 guys will see a majority of the team's snaps at their respective positions barring injury and the others will see some rotational play outside of our punter who should be our starting punter. I'd like to see what we can do with Taylor. Hopefully he can have the rotational impact that SLH has had for us the past few years. This regime has been pretty successful in finding and developing DL talent although I think the only two that were actual lineman coming out of the draft that we got in the later rounds were SLH and Willie Young.
