Obama and Stein come out on top.
Ron Paul beat Romney by 12%.

"The Rent is Too Damn High" guy scored 18%, but they didn't ask me about my position on facial hair.

Wow, I came out with Ron Paul at 88%, closely followed by Gary Johnson at 84%; with a party affiliation 87% libertarian.

Now there's a shocker for ya.

Dem, Green, Lib, Rep
82, 80, 67, 51

Obama, Stein, Johnson, Paul, Romney

Ha!

Even though I was least affiliated with the Green party, I am gonna split my vote between
Green and Libertarian candidates (I'm sure I've posted this before) pretty even handedly, nevertheless, as a matter of principal.

Pretty sure I'll vote for Gary Johnson for President, though...

You have to wonder how the leanings of the people who made the poll impact the results, but it's neat to see all our results relative to each other.

Very true. I remember, I think in '04, a friend of mine sent me a link to something similar. However, it was more geared to party affiliation than actual candidate. Anywho, the way the questions were laid out a lot of my friends were finding that they were more Libertarian than they had realized (most of them are strict adherents to either of the big two). When I dug a little deeper I found that the site was connected to the Libertarian Party or rather supporters of the party.

I don't think that site in '04 was necessarily malicious or deviant in its intent, more likely trying to get people to take a different perspective, but I do think it was geared to have the results that it did.

Probably a mixed bag, and likely people who are more inclined to be objective researchers rather than strident partisans.

Not entirely unlike you, for example...and me.

I was about to say something in agreement to the idea that the bias of these things isn't necessarily malicious about how I think I'd probably unconsciously interpret results as being similar to my own positions too if I made a quiz like this. ...but Tinsel's right about it being a mixed bag. Some people have an inclination to be inclusive and some exclusive. I wonder how you'd go about testing that...

Maybe.

But maybe those friends in particular were just a lot more libertarian than they had thought.

Or maybe a mixed bag.

Could be tinsel...and I think that's kind of what I was getting at with the "getting them to see a different perspective" thing.

I think red's site is kosher and any bias that might exist is unintentional. You weren't shocked by your results, I wasn't blown away by mine, and I think Slick would probably agree with his outcome.

Yeah, and I wasn't surprised by anybody else's results either...

Red came out a little more Green/Democrat than I would have thought -

While you're almost a virtual Green/Libertarian split!

And THAT - that is quite a neat trick, indeed!

Nice find, my results are...

Stein 83%
Obama 77%
Alexander 63%
Johnson 63%
McMillan 53%
Paul 41%
Romney 15%
Goode 10%

Green 83%
Democrat 77%
Libertarian 55%
Republican 13%

mine:

Stein 81%
Obama 74%
Johnson 67%
Paul 46%
Romney 11%

Green 81%
Democratic 74%
Libertarian 59%
Republitard 11%

I did sign the petition to get the Green Party back on the ballot here in Illinois.

I think Libertarianism would be great and all, if applied to a species more intelligent, progressive, and less violent than humanity... but since that's not really possible, or applicable here... Green Party it is.

Wow, our results are almost identical

I don't know about you but I wasn't really surprised Johnson was that high up for me, after looking at his platform, I actually agree with many of his views.

There's an expand option under the candidates

Ah...a regular old gumshoe I see...
