Is this season over?

they did earn the playoff berth by winning those games but that doesn't mean they were a good team. This was proven last night.

Levy is done. Unfortunately, his cap hit of $8.3 is only a little higher than hid dead cap hit if they release him ($7.2M).

Above average team. Winning on road is tough

5 road playoff teams we played were 34-6 at home. Now 35-6.

Lions need to figure out road woes but will add more talent with quinn

loved how a majority of quins first draft all contributed....was a refreshing change of pace from previous regimes. Need to have a couple more of those drafts to fill out this roster.

Yes I loved the rookie contributions. Hope they develop more. Can't wait to see what Quinn does this offseason

boo hoo!

Looking at that call from the Seattle game...that was a good non call. That ball wasn't catchable.

That was catchable. And the worst part, if that is Doug Baldwin versus Nevin Lawson they make the call.

The Lions lost the game because of terrible run defense, shitty 4th down play call and drops, but that was a bad call. And it was 13-6 in the early 4th. Crucial call really.

Being uncatchable is a judgement call. I agree with the official...that ball wasn't catchable. It was too far in front of the WR.

Decker could have been called for a hold on that play too...but it wasn't called either. I am fine with both no calls.

Watching it live, it wasn't catch able. I would have understood calling PI, but I was not getting upset about the no-call.

It was too far because he was held. The PI caused it to look farther. It was catchable and a terrible call. And Decker did not hold on that play. Seahawks held on the bomb to Baldwin. Also like I said if that is Baldwin versus Lawson, you know the refs call it. You know it.

But the Lions played poorly in run defense and had drops. The 4th down call was atrocious

Lions will add talent in FA and draft and get guys healthy. Looking forward to 10 or more wins next year.

They won 9 this season with a cake schedule. They take a huge step up in competition next season and have way too many holes for improvement.

They could play better and still only win 6-7 games. Everything happened perfectly to get into the playoffs.

I don't even see the tough schedule everyone is talking about. It seems about the same. Maybe easier.

Lions play ten teams next year that were .500 or below. at Tampa Bay too which was only 9-7.

Pittsburgh, Atlanta and Green Bay at Ford Field of the six teams above .500. At Giants, at Green Bay, at Tampa Bay are the others.

Lions have a nice schedule next year. A lot of cap room and 8 draft picks. Will get guys healthy. Now if Vikings, Cardinals, Ravens, Bengals, Panthers all rebound it could be tougher. But I don't see that happening if you don't see the Lions getting better either. 3 of those 6 games are at home. 3 on the road.

10 wins at min should be expected

I'm sorry but that looks easy.

Home Games: Chicago, GB, Vikings, Atlanta, Carolina, Browns, Steelers, NFC West*

Away Games: Chicago, GB, Vikings, NO, Ravens, Cinci, TB, NFC East*

*The Detroit Lions will be matched up against the team who finished the prior season with the same placement from the division noted.

So it's the Cardinals at home and Giants away.

I know things will change but this schedule doesn't look easy. I could see possible home losses to GB, ATL, Steelers with MN and Cards could be good as well.

Away schedule looks like there is only one easy game with possible losses: GB, NO, MN, Balt, NO, Cinci, TB, NYG.

Things will change for all teams involved but this looks like another .500 team

Compare it with this season. No Cowboys, we play the Browns - ha, Baltimore, TB, NO are not tough. Being on the road is tough but as far as teams, they aren't good. The schedule is a cake walk. Granted we might finished poorly but that just means we'll a cake team as well.

This schedule is not hard.

Maybe you guys can compile the records for me. But this upcoming schedule only has basically 1 gimme (Cleveland). The rest of those teams seem way more capable than the crap we played this season (Jacksonville, LA, Indy, Tennessee, Philadelphia)

Ten teams under .500 and at Tampa Bay (think Washington). Lions beat those kinds of teams and Lions can improve with health and additions. Lots of important home games as opposed to almost all of them on the road like this past season.
At Giants, at GB, at Dallas, at Houston now at Giants, at GB, Atlanta, Pittsburgh

10 wins min.

Titans were 9-7, Colts 8-8. Ravens were 8-8 and Cincy was well under .500. Jax is tougher than Cleveland. Pittsburgh at Ford Field vs Houston away (Houston 8-1 at home this year). AFC games easier in 2017

NFC East was very good this year. NFC South is not that good other than Atlanta (again Atl will be at Ford Field). 2017 way easier than 2016

at Giants versus at Saints. Tougher in 2017
Arizona verus Rams. Tougher in 2017

Division. Will it be tougher or easier. We shall see. GB has a lot of free agents (Perry, Peppers, Lang, Datone Jones, Eddie Lacy, Micah Hyde). Vikings need to fix their Oline and rush offense and have Munnerlyn, Kalil and Smith as free agents and don't have a 1st round pick. Caldwell is 4-2 vs Zimmer. Bears could be tougher but have a huge QB problem to fix and must fix their secondary too and Alshon is a free agent (we split in 2016)
