James is bigger and more physical. I'm not sure that argument holds weight, especially if you consider the supposed "Jordan rules." MJ basically invented the superstar call as we understand it today.

This isn't to say that Lebron is better than MJ, but it becomes strange that some people are so adamant that the conversation not even start.

Don't get me wrong scoring at least 10 points that many games vs a jr. high team is a great accomplishment. But it's still different when you go against Laimbeer and players like him almost every game (especially in the east).

As far as who was better, it's hard to compare different eras. But the biggest difference was Jordon - a much better defensive player. Some will disagree but Lebron is just flat out lazy at times.

Btw, the Jordon rules was the defense the Pistons employed on him to limit his offense.

You seem to dismiss it but the league is soft compared to Jordon's years. Did you even watch the NBA back then?

Yes, I watched. I really liked the Pistons back then. It was much rougher back then but now the players are more talented and are better athletes. Just like every other sport.

I don't think it's easy to compare like Barry Bonds vs Ruth. But to say the players are better these days are hard to say because they're not getting hit like back then. I don't believe many of today's greats would be the same type player if they played 20-30 years ago.

It's like football, can you compare 2000's wide receiver to 1970? They threw much less back then..

Or the greats of today in the NHL to Gretzky? Different game back then, more open - definitely more 4 on 4 where a team like Edmonton could dominate.

Even Al Kaline as great as he was played in a pitching era for some of those years. Mound was much higher.
