1961: Signed with Detroit Tigers

1961-4: Minor Leagues

Debut: September 30, 1964

1967: Becomes regular

1968: Hit five grand slams (2 in one game and three in a week). He also clubbed one in the World Series.

1968: Had GW hit in 1968 World Series

1968: Tigers win World Series

August 28, 1969: Went 6-for-6 including a walk-off roof top home run at Tiger Stadium

1972: Feuded with Manager Billy Martin

1972: Tigers win AL East

1974: Sold to Expos

1974: Sold to Orioles

1975: Retired

1977-8: Played professional softball

1985-94: Tiger announcer

2000: Elected to Michigan Sports Hall of Fame

2011: Died

I liked Jim he was one of my favorites. Heck that whole team from 1968-1972 was filled with cool dudes... I remember watching a game on TV and Jim went over the fence at Tiger stadium in left field to take away a homer run.. He played 719 in Right, 466 games in center and 321 games in Left...
 
Had a baseball card signed by him and haven't been able to find the darn thing... :(

I met him at Tiger Stadium and got him to sign a ball. He was in the dugout and I recognized his hair.
