Jerry Crasnick from ESPN is saying that the Tigers are in a two team race to grab Jimmy Rollins. Please god no he is Ramon Santiago with a power.

why would we want him anyways? this makes no sense.

for what its worth, mlbtr says nothing about this. only crasnick.

Might be seeing something shortly about a 2nd team in on Jimmy Rollins.

Jimmy Rollins fits the Tigers just as Reyes would have. i.e. in every way but $$$. Didn't go after Reyes. Been told no on Rollins, as well.

Mitch[/color]]I thought he was a lock for Philly?
About an hour ago the MLB on XM guys said he was supposed to be a lock there, but heard they were way apart on any deal. They said they could see the Tigers creeping in on him as well as a couple other teams, but didn't have any rumors of that happening yet.

Jimmy Rollins' agent, Dan Lozano, has told #Phillies he's having dialogue w a 2d team on Rollins. Other clubs believe #Tigers have interest.

@jaysonst says #Tigers could be "hovering to make a run'' at Jimmy Rollins. (Insider) es.pn/sf31db

i cant figure out why we want him unless hes willing to move to 2nd or something.

Yeah, you know Philly can't reach a deal so how much would the Tigers offer him? What was he making last season, 8M~?

Not sure if this is a ploy by his agent or if we have real interest. I could see him playing 2B or Peralta moving over to 2B or 3B if he came here though.

Move Rollins to 3rd, DFA Inge (again) and get Prado to play 2b.

I wish we would be getting a younger guy that could be here for awhile. At least he doesn't K a ton :)

Rollins the last 3 years away (from hitter friendly Citizens Bank Park)

.258 BAVG .316 OBP .407 SLG .723 OPS 79.62 RC/650

Hopefully no one thinks he will hit leadoff.

The only possible good thing about Rollins is his defense at short. Peralta would be moving, not Jimmy, I would hope.

per Danny Knobler: "Many people asking about Jimmy Rollins/Tigers. They insist that they are not/have not been in on him."
