It seems like the DBacks have made him available as the Pirates have begun talks with them for Upton.

Would you guys want Upton and what would you be willing to give up? Turner and Castellanos?

Jon Heyman has reported that Detroit has "Huge" interest in Upton.

I don't think I'd give up Castellanos for anyone yet, don't feel like reliving the Alexander-Smoltz deal.

Upton would be nice, though his numbers are way off last seasons. (and his career averages too)

It would have to be a mix of minor leaguers and maybe cash, but no Castellanos, and probably no Turner either.

Just my $.02

Read something about him and his brother, kind of underachieving? He's talented, but having a poor season compared to last year or previous. iirc his salary jumps to around 14M for a year or two in another year or two.

Maybe for a one or two of the current Tigers along with minor leaguers other than Castellanos and Turner.

Yup. He is on my shortlist of players I would give Castellanos up for. He is young, good, ton of potential, and under team control for awhile.

Carlos Gonzalez and Ryan Braun make up the rest of my short list.

You have to remember Justin is only 24 and under control under after the 2015 season. Not bad for player who will hit in the .280 range, hit around 30 HR, and knock in around 100 RBI.

well read some other stuff about upton, having a thumb injury, and possible labrum tear from past year(s).

idk, they have another outfielder that some here were interested in before, Gerardo Parra.
