Great news. Great job Mayhew

Per Ian Rapport twitter.

Cap number is currently 4.5 million. Let's see if that changes for 2015.

I don't care what they paid him as long as they paid him. Great news.

Four year extension. Probably close to the Wagner deal.

Close to Wagner is a bit much, but someone else may have paid it. Plus I am sure glad will still be on our team and not anyone else's. *Suh

Sounds like a lot money coming his way.

Although my guess is he is just screwing with the media:

"The first thing I'll do probably is get two solid gold dog dishes for my dog," Levy deadpanned. "That, and maybe a 24-hour beard system to just groom me on demand. Other than that, everything will be the same I think."

Excellent! Levy is a beast. One of my favorite players, and one of the emerging defensive studs in the league. Happy they were able to get this done.

Whoa whoa whoa......is this universal praise from this board??? EVERYONE agrees this is good deal??

I'm not sure I remember that ever happening.

Details on that 4-year extension for ‪#‎Lions‬ LB DeAndre Levy: Its worth $33.72M ($8.43M per year). $20M in guarantees.

This looks like a great deal for both sides.

I don't think there's a single person in the fanbase that does not like Levy. And considering he doesn't have an injury history, has worked his ass off to get to this level, and is still young for his position, it should draw universal praise. A really good contract that doesn't bury us helps.

Some is spread over 5 years too. Great job Mayhew/Lewand.

Lewand took a little jab at Suh too.

“I think it benefits everyone when you’re able to come to a decision and be able to move forward,” Lions president Tom Lewand said. “I think it’s a tremendous credit to DeAndre that he knew what he wanted and knew that he wanted to be a part of this organization moving forward and we were able to work something out. And I think that benefits everybody and when you send a message through the guys you extend, the kind of guy that DeAndre is on the field and off the field is representative of what we want to be about and he in turn wants to be a part of this organization for a long time, and that’s great.”
That’s also a thinly veiled shot at Suh, who the Lions thought they were going to be able to re-sign last year, before he bolted for Miami in free agency and a six-year, $114 million deal.

Now get Ngata done Mayhew. Reiff next offseason to lower his 5th year option to a better cap number. Maybe one of Slay or Warford (though both are cheap for 2016) once Reiff is done.

Agreed 100%.

One of my favorite players. I might even get my boys Levy jerseys.

Don't you want to see Ngata play first? Maybe he becomes Julian Peterson and declines.
