Of course, when he announces that he's going pro, that might go over too well and they're playing Nebraska, so there will probably be some empty seats on a cold wednesday in January.

Who knows how this turned into a press conference? I see no problem with wanting to tell your team first at some time after the last game. With the media hounding you for an answer, that approach could easily turn into a press conference whether you want one or not.
