IF the Lions can still somehow win this game being behind by a mere FG, and yet obviously struggling to get close enough to get within FG distance and tie it up on O, it would put them squarely in the catbird's seat for at least the last of the two WC berths, being that the other three vying for it are all deadlock tied @ 7-7, Bears, Seahawks, and Giants.

But when was the last (and only) time that any of the few and far between truly contending Lions teams have ever made any halfway-decent chance of clinching/locking up a berth in the playoffs look like it was gonna be a cinch?
