Lions' Caldwell: We expected lateral, not Hail Mary

I'm sorry but there are 7 year olds that would know that a Hail Mary is more likely than a bizarre lateral play with arguably the best QB in the league. This guy has got to be one of the dumbest coaches in football history.

How not to defend a hail mary..

i

Playing the Hail Mary made to much sense for dumb Jimmy C..
I mean come on they just had ran a lateral play..
Playing 6 to 9 guys near the end zone cannot stop a lateral play right Jimmy!!!

Jimmy your so damn smart!!!!! No way he can make that throw to the end zone!!!!

I mean how do you not cover anyone, 30 yards off, after the play started? Lol.

Don't have your hand up near his head, take all doubt away from the officials. He can't throw the ball forward, there's no one within 20 yards of him, and there are two Lions players surrounding him. Why do you need to try and grab his face?

You're an idiot if you think he actually put his hand to his head on purpose. Rodgers was going down anyways and turning his head to the right at the same time while Taylor's thumb "grazed" Rodgers facemask. It was a good play by Taylor of course snuffed out by the incompetence of the refereeing. That's 2 games this year pretty much stolen from us. We'd be right in the thick of things to possibly win the division right now and most definitely in the WC race.

Just awful coaching to have those two guys in a circled in yellow where they were...

First coach in history that actually played for the lateral.. Lol.

Where do the Lions find all of these people?

Caldwell is consistently outcoached.

Lions draft a TE with bad hands in the 1st round? Who drafts a TE in the first round?

Lions Draft a RB with a fumbling problem?

Lions draft a Guard with a #1 Draft pick? I can see drafting a Tackle but not a Guard.

Any player that can't catch or has a reputation for fumbling the Lions have to absolutely stay completely away from these type of players.

The team is a mess and we can only hope Sheldon White is not signed to a long term contract at the end of the year. He is a moron and an even bigger idiot than Mayhew

Twice.

Jake Butt might be a R1 pick in 2017. If the Lions took him in R1 and ditched Droptimus and his twin, I would not complain.

3rd first round TE, 2nd in top ten right after you just took a guy 2 years ago? I'd get back to Michigan and kill them all, the whole organization.

1. We don't know where they will draft in 2016, let alone 2017 when Butt is available.

2. Droptimus should be gone by 2017, creating an opening at TE.

3. Butt would be a huge upgrade over Ebron in every facet of the game, from blocking to route running to catching to mentality and leadership. Neither Droptimus nor Ebron deserved R1 status, and maybe Butt gets to R2, but regardless, if Butt were picked by the Lions it would be a tremendous get and no Lions fan should complain about the pick. TE would finally be resolved after 10+ years.
