They have traded with the Bucs for TE Tim Wright. Some are saying it was a player for player trade. No clue who or what we gave up.

Zack Zenner

<joking, I have no clue>

I'm curious if they will trade/drop Fauria or Pettigrew. Unless they roll with four TE...

Wright wasn't making the cut in Tampa, and i don't think he makes the cut here. I think he was brought in just to push Fauria a bit, and get a look at him. He had a great rookie season, and has been the invisible man since.

This gives them a week in practice and a preseason game to decide if he's really a stud that the coaches elsewhere couldn't figure out how to use, or if he's really a bum that got lucky.

If we gave up a player, it was someone who was being cut. If we gave up a pick, it was probably conditional.

This makes sense. He's a good red zone target, had 6 TDs with New England. Would definitely be the type of player to push Fauria as that's his niche as well.

I'm sure Fauria is gone. My guess is Wright instantly becomes the best pass catching TE on the roster.

Fauria is gone IMO. Writings on the wall now. Be nice if it was Pettigrew ...haaaaa.

Fauria and Wright are pretty much the same player in my opinion. Both living off padded numbers in their rookie year, both decent targets in the Red Zone, both guys you won't really miss a year from now.

Whichever one ends up on the roster, does it really make a difference?

Fauria gets an edge due in the height category. He stands tall in the red zone and he's damned hard to overthrow. Goes up for the jump ball and he's 15 feet in the air.

Wright gets an edge in the health category since Fauria can't seem to get/stay healthy.

In the end, if we have to rely on either of them, we're already hosed at TE.

Wright had 6 TDs last year. Fauria needs to offer more between the 20s.

Seems to me like Wright is a guy they tried to get off of waivers when he was released earlier.

Good decoy I suppose. Strange move but at least we got something for the kicker that would not have cleared waivers. Didn't he burn us for 2 TD's last year?

Mike Evans is the one with the two TDs last season.

Wright played for the Patriots last year and had 2 TDs against us. Only two receiving Tds of day for Brady.
