Lions make another trade

DTs 2-4 could be better, could also be worse.
Tulloch should be better, but has had a bit of trouble in preseason so far
Nickel upgrade is an hopeful assumption. Could play just as bad.
Year 2...ok... but will be year one for Ngata. Huge drop off from Suh.

What about Mathis, at 35 no guarantee he plays as well as he did in 2014, could be a quick sudden drop off, seen it before with old players.

Will the offense continue to minimize turnovers and keep the defense in relatively decent position? Or will they revert to their old way? They in bottom portion of the league for interceptions and fumbles given away last year.

The defense should be good, but no slam dunk. They played a pretty easy schedule as far as offense went last year. Tougher one this year.

DT 2-4 is better. Walker is proven and Reid is more talented than Mosley. Wright over Flu or rookie Reid. Dt 2-4 are upgraded. It's a fact
Tulloch is better than Whitehead for 13 at Mike. Tulloch is a good player too which you choose to ignore that for some reason. Good against run and in coverage (Jags game aside without starting Dline and Levy)
Nickel is upgraded with Wilson and Lawson. Vaughn/Gorrer and other backups were awful. Lions are much better at nickel. It's clear, not hopeful
Ngata is not a huge drop off from Suh. You are on crack if you think that. Ngata is a run D upgrade actually and a good pass rusher.

Mathis played well at 34. He can still play. Only idiots questioned him at 33 and 34. Those same idiots question him at 35.

The offense will minimize turnovers. That is what Caldwell does. Stafford proved it with no protection, run game, weapon/Oline injuries and 600 attempts he can control his turnovers. All 3 of those should be better for Stafford. Plus year 2 in the system. Calvin fixed his fingers, Tate is very reliable, Moore is reliable and Ebron is in year 2. This helps big time. This offense could score 30 PPG.

Lions have an easier schedule in 2015. Home games against good teams for a change. KC/SD are overrated. Denver is easier than at Pats. Saints on road and Cards at home (swap from last year). Chicago is a mess. Vikings not quite there yet. Packers got worse with Nelson hurt and their defense looks atrocious. San Fran and Rams are a mess. at Seattle is tough but not as tough as last year IMO. And at Carolina was a loss anyway last year so at Seattle is the same. Raiders suck. One tougher game Philly at home vs Giants at home. Big deal. Eagles can be beat.

LKP when he thought we would still sign Suh:

12/03/2015:6.4 total (3.2 each) savings with bush and tulloch cut. Riddick bell van noy and whitehead allow that. 3.1 savings to cut jones. May not be necessary

1/14/2015:They can easily. 18 million under. Can cut Tulloch, Jones, Bush for 8 million. Restructure Stafford for 5.6 million (then give him a new deal next year to make his base low again). Tons of room.

2/4/2015:The cuts will be the guys we don't need, Bush, Tulloch and Jones.

A cap cut doesn't mean he's not good. Tulloch is a stud. But nice try.

We got Ngata and Tulloch. Even better.

The Ngata and Walker moves will win Mayhew GM of the year.
