It'll never show up in the stats, but he did affect games with taking double teams and still getting pressure on the QB. He also sweets the edge nicely against the run. The bigger problem is the lack of complimenting peices to take advantage of their 1 on 1 matchups.

I agree he needs to play better, but to say he had no impact on the game if he didn't get a sack is just beyond ignorant.

No.....saying that guy had a bigger impact is BEYOND IGNORANT. He had a below league average QB hurry % and does NOT see double teams like he used to. This board says all the time it's not all about sack numbers when talking about DE's.....I agree.....ziggy's sack numbers are extremely misleading. All his outlying numbers say he was not good in 2017.

Of course they do......doesn't mean he's good. When Ziggy was out.....they rolled to Zettle. That's what teams do.....roll to the best player on the line.

I hope he stays healthy this year and gets back to 2015......but Ziggy Ansah was not consistently good last year.....despite having 12 sacks.

If you look at the defenses the Patriots have used in the past it makes sense that Ansah would play the Chandler Jones role as a down DE in both 4 and 3 man fronts.

I know it's going to be tough to replace three sacks a game three times a year, but it's not tough to replace "Cannot play".

Ziggy hasn't proven it. He's a beast when he's on the field, but he's not on the field enough for the big payday.
