Lions vs Bears Prediction Thread

Forte is going to kill us one way or another, and if their Oline holds up for Cutler again we might be in trouble. I'll say Bears 27-17.

That said, the biggest things for us will be to make their wide receivers beat us and contain Forte as much as possible from a defensive stand point. Offensively, we just have to hope that Stafford has watched a lot of film during the Bye and can eliminate the horrid mental mistakes he has at times.

Lions are road warriors this season so far, relishing sticking it to the hometown team in front of its fans, and other than their TGD game vs the very probably still undefeated Packers, I think that this team is obv. much more likely to win games remaining on the road than @home. The only other game that I am concerned with is which one, if any, near the end of the season, might be a clinching playoff game, home or road.

Since the Lions have more home games remaining between @ Bears next, and @ Packers in Week 17, it most likely will be a home game that they must win to clinch, unless of course it comes down to the final game, but looking at how the other NFC divisions are performing, other than the teams leading each one, all the Lions might really have to do is play 4-4 or more likely 5-3 football the rest of the way and they will be in the playoffs. Going 3-5 or less...well...better luck next season, probably. They hold the tie-breakers vs both the Bucs and Cowboys, and the Falcons hold it over the Lions, BUT the Eagles are the only team that might shut the Lions out of the playoffs, IF they play mostly winning football for the rest of the season like they were expected to @ the start.

I think that the Lions will win vs @ Bears in a close game by 7, 28-21 in OT, but Young will catch a near the end of first OT, TD pass to win it, not CJ, who will get one during regulation. If they can beat the Bears, then the Bears will be that much closer to being out of the playoff picture, and all but done in the NFCN, regardless of the outcome of their MNF game tonight. Must win for both teams but much moreso for the Bears, IMO.

Just an FYI, you can't win by 7 in OT. If you happen to score a TD, the game just ends, no XP.

As for the game, I just don't know what to make of the Bears. They are by far, the most difficult team to read. I just look over that roster and I see a mostly talentless rosters with holes everywhere. Terrible safeties, 1 decent CB, good LB'ers, average D-Line. On offense you have what is most likely the worst O-Line in the NFL, a bunch of #2's and #3's at WR, and a highly inconsistent QB. The only thing they have going for them is Forte.

I still think our D-Line is just too much for that O-Line and we beat them again. I just think with 14 days of preparation and rest, while they are coming off a short week is gonna be tough to overcome for them. I'm saying 31-23 in a close game where we start to pull away towards the end.

For as much crap as people talk about Cutler, he's been stepping up. The only way Detroit wins is if Bad Jay comes out of the woodwork for this game. Otherwise, Bears by 10.

They barely won last night and the Eagles made plenty of mistakes. Cutler doesn't scare me. He might do well and the Bears might win but I'm worried about Forte, Peppers and those LB. And Biggs got burned against us in game one. He wants redemption.

My concern is their defensive pass rush and no Jahvid Best to throw the quick dump screen passes to. Obviously a game Detroit should win coming off of a bye week though. Cutler played pretty well against our rush last time. I do not want to see him do that well again. Forte and Peppers are a concern for any team playing them. We just have to do our best to limit their impacts. Would be nice to see Detroit get away from the "wide 9" for this game to contain Forte a little bit better and force Cutler to beat us.

My heart tells me the Lions, my gut tells me the Bears.

I'm not gonna back away from my original 5-3 prediction, which includes a win this week

Lions win a close one 28-27

I think Forte is obviously the guy everybody tries to stop - and with no success at doing so lately, but man I gotta say - Cutler has played fucking great in their last 3 or 4 games. Some of those throws he made last night with guys getting in on him like right now, and somehow he wiggles out and throws some fucked up angle piss missle that drills his guy in the numbers... just amazing. And he did it the entire game against us a few weeks ago too.

got Forte in my money league...will be watching with a big smile as he runs roughshod.
