Lions vs Bears Prediction Thread

I have made my decision. It was not easy. But there's one major factor we need to figure in here. The weather forcast for Sunday at Soldier Field: High 59 degrees, wind 25mph, chance of rain 40%...as much as this team has made leaps and bounds this season...they still haven't proven they can win on a grass surface in adverse weather. Bears 24-17. I hope I'm wrong........

How many times have they played in adverse weather on grass this season?

This season? None. I'm just going with overall history.

Well unless Durant and Tulloch were on the team last year, and Wright and the guys who weren't on two years ago like Suh and company. This team is so much different than past years.

The names don't mean anything. Dude, Barry Sanders HIMSELF had -1 rushing yards in a playoff game on the frozen tundra. I really want to be wrong...but I can't see it right now...

Different guys. That's like saying GB can't beat Detroit based on last seasons game. And btw, I'm not sure I consider 59 degrees as bad football weather. The rain, if there is any, will effect both teams equally.

Rain, depending on the severity usually favors the run and slows the pass rush. Definately would be a benefit for the bears if it is a rainy windy day.

I wouldn't say rain benefits either team. lol

It's next to impossible to be a shifty change of direction runner when the ground is coming out from under you - See the comment about Barry Sanders.

Forte isn't as elusive, but he's a shifty runner and changes direction a lot. If the ground is soft and it's raining, that hurts the Bear's primary offensive weapon - their ground game.

Not to mention with the way that Cutler has been having to run circles (literally) to escape defenders since his Offensive Line is a fucking revolving door will also hurt Chicago.

Mo isn't really a change of direction guy. He picks a hole and hits it - wins some, loses some. He's not a big cutback runner like Jahvid Best is.

Neither team are really a "Power Running" team that gets the huge plus when then weather sucks.

I know Best is out but the Lions did run for 181 yards on the bears in the first game. If the offensive line gives Morris and Williams them holes this game they will run for 150+ also.

Cutler must have really gotten his ego bruised after losing in detroit; talking about how they have the advantage at soldier field. I think it's just funny:

He was a bitch before he came to chicago
He was bitching about getting killed behind his o-line (eh, rightfully so)
Now they won 3 straight and he's yapping about having an advantage.

Someone needs to tell this puss that we won four straight road games, so if anything it puts things back on even ground.

Man is that what happens? I've been duped.

Fox pre-game, i'm so tired of hearing about how the D supposedly has a bad run D, that's not the biggest problem IMO, the run D gives up 2-3 big gains per game on ave, you take those away and the run D isn't that bad so what they should be saying is just that instead of making it sound like they just can't stop the run at all.

2-3 huge runs per game is bad....
