Lions have lost two in the top 10...

Not sure where the 58 yarder would fit in but I am sure it is top 20....

Had to fathom a guy named Paddy Driscoll in kicked a 55 yard drop kick in 1924 that was good...

The Dempsey FG was just to typical of this franchise. No one expected it to be within 15 yards of the uprights. The DL barely rushed the kick.

Right.

Also, Dempsey had like a steel foot.

I remember it looking of like a stump.

EDIT:

Yup...I remember it well...

Lions lost to the Vikings twice that year finished a un-lion 5-0 in their last five games to go 10-4 and win the first wild card spot then lost freaking 5-0 to the Cowboys in the playoffs .... We had score more points then the cowboys that season 347 to 299 .. Our defenses was at 202 and the cowboys at 221....
it was a frustrating loss in Dallas as they shut us down..

And the damn weather should have helped us not them because it was
35 degrees, relative humidity 46%, wind 8 mph, wind chill 28 :/

Sorry could not get the link to work so I copy and pasted it..

Not really game winners since some of those were blowouts or the kicks were made early..

In a round about way, the Lion are linked to three of the five longest field goals in history.

Dempsey made his 63 yarder to beat the Lions.

Prater (as of today) and Akers both became Lions after kicking their field goals of 64 and 63 yard respectively.

Just interesting to me for some reason.

Yeah I should have titled it better... For sure the Lions losses were game winners :/
