Manafort jailed

he got caught committing crimes while out on bail. judge had no choice.

but yeah, usually in such a case, the judge would be livid, trashing the defendent's reputation in court for daring to be so brazen as a he revoked bail.

Three US marshals led Manafort out of the courtroom into the prisoner holding area immediately after the judge's ruling. He was not placed in handcuffs. Before he disappeared through the door, he turned toward his wife and supporters and gave a stilted wave.
Minutes later, a marshal returned to give his wife, Kathleen, still standing in the courtroom's front row, Manafort's wallet, belt and the burgundy tie he wore Friday.

Then Drumpfkopf tweets like he has already been tried, convicted, and sentenced...lolz.

Guess what Donald, if Manafort committed election-related fraud for only a week, instead of "49 days" (was actually months longer) as your campaign manager, with the knowledge of some, most, any, or all of you and your staff, has absolutely no bearing upon whether charges can be filed, and grand juries impaneled.

Judge was nearly apologetic...was led out of court sans cuffs.

Not like how Joe Blow or esp Jose or DeJoe would have been treated.

Another example of kid glove Affluenza.

Justice isn't blind here in Murka, it is a social/fiscal asset rater.

Only ?Murka? didn?t invent class and privilege.

It?s kind of indemnic to the human social condition.

Going back to dawn of time.

Look at old Noah; took his family on a cool boat ride with a lot of pets; the pets didn?t even need to go through quarantine or get special shots to obtain travel visas.

Meanwhile, everybody else got fuckin? drown.

When I use the term "Murka" it was taken from George W Bush's pronunciation of America, which spans from people of the Americas living from Alert, Nunavut Canada, to those in the Tierra Del Fuego archipelago.

Since that term has been largely appropriated by the rightwing, such as supposed non-profits like "Americans For Tax Reform" and "Americans For Prosperity"...as well as members of the GOP when giving speeches and tweets claiming that their words and deeds are supported by Americans, I tend to avoid using it very often online and prefer using the term US or United States instead.

Murkin patriots claim that the US is "exceptional" and our symbol of Lady Justice is a blindfolded statue of a woman holding scales. Whether or not our justice system truly is as exceptional as our alleged global reputation once was, is very debateable, given our rates and percentage of incarcerated to other First World nations, and also many Third World nations.

Manafort was transferred to and arrived about 8 pm last night at the Northern Neck Regional Jail in Warsaw, Virginia, 90 miles south of Washington. The facility houses both male and female, state, county, and federal inmates, the last awaiting, amid trial, or prior to sentencing in the federal courts.

The "Affluender" is classified as being a VIP @ the jail. So very likely Manafort was spared the typical humiliating and human cattle way that new intake inmates are searched and processed (then weeks later classified) and instead of being initially placed in bunkless cement and iron-barred holding tanks, and a few-several days later, new prisoners' "D Blocks" which contain bunks for 15-20, but due to overcrowding often force a few more within them, who get the cold cement floors to use with their thin vinyl mattress pads and threadbare blanket, but he was probably very quickly assigned to his own one-person cell with more perks and privileges.

Unlike most county jails, Manafort's is somewhat more unique, in which inmates are able to converse Skype-like with their outside contacts. So their contacts do not have to schedule time/day-limited appointments to visit the jail in person, so to see and speak via video or more personally through a glassed-in partition.

if someone asked your nationality how would you respond. Would you say American?

I would say that I am of German, French Canadian, and Native American (Anishnabeg) descent (according to my sister having our family DNA recently analyzed by "23 and Me"). If someone asked me what country that I am from, then I would say the United States...>:D

Not me. I'd say American for nationality. The other stuff I'd call ancestry.

Maybe you could say United Stater.

Just asked my wife what her nationality is..she said Italian....:hehe:

If you're trying to make it seem like I'm the only one, you're wrong.

maybe I used the wrong term.

Go ask your wife what you call a person that was born in, and lives in, the United States.

If you talk about a person with multiple nationalities, people will think you mean dual citizenship. If you google terms "two nationalities" or "multiple nationalities", those are the results you get.

No no no,

Officially, a citizen of the United States of America is a citizen of the United States of America.

Aka. Yankee

There are a billion Americans, don't ruin all our reputation with your smut imperialism.

A US citizen.

Just b/c most conservatives are so fond of attaching everything national, patriotic, and self-identifying to being American, doesn't mean that everyone else does or should.

I still recall many of the nationalities of my childhood friends and some of my grade/HS classmates, b/c I grew up in a very diverse and ethnic area in the city of Detroit, and those of mostly or entirely Swedish, Dutch, Swiss, Italian, Polish, German, Irish, Spanish, French..ect..descent were quite happy and proud to answer when asked.
