Maryland game

How does a 5 star recruit look at this situation and say "God I really want to play there for Izzo"

Valentine has some great awareness and vision. Every now and then he gets a little sloppy.

That was an awesome game, laid it all on the line effort wise. Still didn't shoot all that well, but if we play like that the rest of the season good things are coming our way.

It was also Big Ten basketball the way it's supposed to be played. Tough and intense and letting them play for the most part within reason. If we had played this defense in the Wisconsin game we'd have probably had even more fouls.

We needed that. Its yawn and sleep through the season if we didnt beat these fucks tonight. Still not the team it was 6 weeks ago but hope it will be in the next few games.

I agree, the team still seems a little off in some way, still not moving the ball as well as we can. Not shooting the ball all that well either. We won tonight's game off from pure effort and senior leadership. We have NW and Rutgers coming up, hop to get back on a roll.

If the team wins 3 of the next 4, the schedule sets up nicely the second half of the season. That means winning the next one at NW, which will be similar to trying to win at UW. It should happen but you have to show up and get it done. Then try to get no worse than split among the two at UM and Purdue. Come out of that 7-5 and
I could see them finishing off no worse than 12-6, possibly even running the table.

With the wins Iowa already has in the books and Big Ten title is probably already out of the question, but there still is a good chance to finish strong and get a pretty good NCAA seed.

A #1 seed is still on the table. 12-6 would make us 25-6 heading into the Big Ten tourney. Probably looking at a 3 seed at that point. Win the BTT and we would probably be looking at a 2 at 28-6. Go 13-5 and win the BTT and a 29-5 MSU team gets a #1 seed. Either scenario and we'd have 7 or 8 top 25 wins.

Free throws were pretty bad early as well. They missed the front end of a couple 1 and 1s and were shooting 64%. They made up for it down the stretch making 14 of their last 15 and got the team average in the high 70s but early on it wasn't looking great if we had to make hay at the free throw line.

Now its time to start playing basketball again, no mercy!!! Loved Costello tonight, I might be the enemy here but ive alway sliked costello. He had trouble finishing around the rim before but hes working his ass off now.

When we got down 5 in the second half, Denzel took the game over. Best he's looked since the injury, he was possessed. I think his conditioning is still coming back, but he looked like the best player in the country last night. People are talking about him as a lottery pick now, wouldn't have dreamed of that a year ago. I think Draymond's success is helping his stock for sure.

Most realistic finish for us is 12-6 in the conference, we have some tough road games. If we then go 2-1 in the BTT a 27-7 MSU team gets a 3 seed.

Costello had a huge game, hit 4 straight free throws when MD made a little run around the 5 minute mark. Not sure what everyone thought about the uniforms but I thought Breslin looked awesome from my seats.
