Mayhew Speaks

Pretty much says Bell isn't going to be a part of the team. Kinda reading into it, but that's what it seems like. Interesting....

This is what bothers me ""I think like a lot of us, they had very high expectations for this season, too..."

Based on what? They finished the 2nd half of last season under .500 and didn't address the weak points of 2011. We may have all thought a 9-10 win season was possible but in the back of our minds a 4-5 win season was plausible.

Well st least we know 1 of 2 things will happen in January 2014: lions will be in playoffs or getting a new GM and coach.

Like it or not, sure seems they are going after rbs and safeties in R1+2 unless they somehow get one in FA. Meanwhile DE will be hurting and we will neglect it despite DE being the strongest position in the draft.

And no mention of titus? Great! Looking forward to the nutjob returning and getting another WR coach fired with added bonus hour can likely get the HC and GM fired too! Well if they r stupid enough to bring back that cancer then they deserve to lose their jobs.

Gotta find out what's going on. The Lions don't have a team that can just cut guys at will.

This has all the makings of a colossal failure or some crazy success story for next season. Mayhew sounds desperate. I don't like it.

They better make sure CJ and others approve of him back if he comes back else this won't end well.

You started wendling for multiple games and ur just NOW realizing you made a mistake?! This guy is a bigger idiot than i thought.

I'm not sure that's what he meant. Did you expect him to talk about it during the season?

If this fucknut brings back Young he should be canned on the spot.

He has to act like he could bring Titus back or it would reduce any trade value that writhe is worth.

I agree that there is no way he should be back on the team.

Titus came to his exit physical on Wed with his parents. Hopefully they were smacking him around

Exactly. Young might not be the most talented receiver and he may be a nut case but he is better than anything we had down the stretch with the exception of Megatron.

Maybe they can figure out whatever medication Marshall is taking and put Young on that...

Yeah you guys are right. He definitely hasn't been given a fair shake yet, he just needs 4-7 more chances to turn it around. Not to mention it showed real maturity bringing his parents in for his parent-teacher interview instead of hiding his report card under his bed. The other mental midgets on the team will surely respect the fact that you can fuck up repeatedly with no consequences as long as you start. I mean what 20 year old millionaire would not want to find out he is bulletproof and indispensable?

Dude, maybe he's sick? I mean I've never seen a player run a play wrong on purpose. In 47 years, none at all. Lets see what they find. Some of you just want to cut guys all the time because of one screw up. Hell, last season we had a thread someone started though we should trade Suh based on his off season crap.

One screw up? Wasn't he removed from the team three times this year? Sick how, in the medulla oblongata? Wouldn't that be something worth looking into before drafting and playing him for two years. Only the Lions would draft the sociopath out of three similarly ranked wideouts (Cobb, T. Smith).

I meant to say 1 season. Lot more screw ups across the NFL. But you have to figure out why he did what he did. Its not normal. And yeah, maybe he should have the opportunity to get heard by Mayhew. This isn't Russia.

Mayhew noted it wasn't just based on one year evaluation. He said he was a good teammate and productive in 2011. We don't know what happened, what Delmas said to him, what Jefferson said to him, how much his knee bothered him and exactly what antics he did besides punching Delmas and lining up wrong. That one play is pretty inexcusable though and I have no problem with the Lions cutting him. But if they give him a chance, Mayhew must have a reason

It's called desperation. And what a foul smelling cologne it is.
