First season for Howard. I hope losing Yaklich doesn?t cost this defense. Nice early signing for Howard

Howard was one of the best defensive coaches in the NBA. Coaching won't be a step back on that front. Losing Matthews, who was one of the best wing defenders in the country, may cause a a bit of a step back. Livers will do a good job, but he doesn't defend at the same level Matthews did.

I expect to see a decent amount of 2-3 this year. Howard mixed it in with the Heat successfully, so I can't imagine he won't do the same at Michigan.

I have no idea what to expect this season and that's ok.

I hope we don't see the 2 and the 4 run to the corners and just sit there while we set up Teske at the top of the key for 3's. I love JB, but his offense last year was crappy. D was great!

The team does lose Matthews, but his scoring was almost non-existent. You can't play 5-out with Matthews, Teske, and Simpson. Teams could just slack off of them and wait for them to miss 3's.

We'll see an increase in transition with Howard. JB had the system where he wanted bigs to box out and guards/wings to go get the board. Hurt the ability to run. Howard won't do that. One of Teske's strengths when he was recruited was his exceptional outlet passing. I think we'll get to see it on display now.

Sonuvabitch!

AP preseason pull out and Michigan not even ranked.

Rival Spartans are #1.

Good on their fans, I guess.

I didn?t go looking for it; I don?t care that much-I just happened to come across it.

Not even ranked? Fo? rills?

Rivals? Please. i know its probably the biggest or 2 biggeat games on your schedule but for us they're just regular games.

I was kinda surprised we're not ranked at all.

Also surprised Ohio State is. what the hell did they do last season?

Never too early for some injury news, i guess

Franz Wagner broke his wrist and will be out 4-6 weeks.
