Michigan expects Runyan to be healthy for UW

Oh man, I hope we don?t have to listen to this bullshit all season long.

The ?we needed to pass more? people are strangely silent about the 0-3 passing performance in the 2nd OT period.

we need to be more aggressive... and if we are and it doesn?t work, well that didn?t count because REASONS.

Honestly, I just want them to pick something and stick with it. Like I said before, he decides to scrap Gattis' plan and just do his old shit, whatever.

There are way too many great WRs on this team. Letting them go to waste would be a fire-able offense in itself.

That sounds like a former player talking. I don't think they're wrong about any of it.

The killer instinct stuff is not even speculation, that's pretty apparent. Jim just seems to have changed a lot for year 1 to now. Seems a lot more subdued. He was an absolute maniac in SF. He was willing to give Kaepernick a shot out of the blue. What happened to that dude?

Great article B ! Thanks for posting it .. this read is spot on with the offensive issues.
Hopefully getting Ruynan, and DPJ back will really help this offense. Get the hurry up tempo read option offense going ! Use the darn run to set up the pass. If Patterson struggles and we lose at Wisconsin it is time to pull his plug and get McCaffrey ready for next season. Just my opinion but I am tired of transfer qb?s .

in the second OT, we called three straight passes, and Patterson missed his WR on all of them. so what should we have done there?

no one knows what happened with the playcalling and Gattis said Patterson wasn?t hurt, although his comments weren?t exactly very direct on that.

I think we need to wait and see what happens against Wisconsin before we start jumping to conclusions.

The offense has definitely been a mess, but like Gattis himself said, 4 1st half possessions, 3 end in fumbles. Plus a fumble return TD called back that should?ve been good. The offense gutted out points and yards when they needed to.

I think that he feels obligated to play certain guys, Patterson especially. Gotta get back to a true meritocracy. If you're a 5th year senior but a freshman is better, tough shit. Get better. I may be wrong and Shea could just be the best option they have.

I also don't love the calm, subdued Harbaugh. I loved the crazy guy screaming at refs and throwing shit on the sidelines. The team took on that personality and played with an edge. The team going into OSU last year reminded me of the Hoke "country club" teams. They thought they had the game won.

I don't disagree with you on that. They've shown flashes of what they said they were going to do. They had a 4 play, 68 yard TD drive against MTSU that was 3 chunk plays and that is what we all expected to see a lot of this year.

They'll probably be fine, and I don't expect them to continue to lose 3 fumbles every game. It's just frustrating that they seemed to revert back to last year's strategy when they didn't have immediate success. I also still don't understand how you can only target Nico Collins 3 times in a close game like that. Or any game for that matter.

"Impeccable" sources. Who "believe."

EDIT: I do recall that Army pressured Patterson with consistency.

In that OT series, most of that was on Patterson for sure. And he is a part of the problem, a big one IMO. He just seems "off" out there, I cannot explain it. But, Black did not help him out with a big drop that he should have had. But otherwise yeah, he is missing guys deep like crazy.

Hmm, I'm not sure about that. While I have not done a play-by-play, I remember a large majority of the replays showing Patterson had plenty of time to put the ball where it needed.

He is supposed to be good with pressure, that's why he got all this hype. He was the guy that could evade the pressure and make quick throws on the run.

Didn't the "crazy guy screaming at refs and throwing shit on the sidelines" get flagged for a penalty during the infamous 2016 OSU game for behaving that way? Maybe that's one reason why he hasn't been as nuts lately. I'd gladly have that guy back if the refs don't cite basketball rules to justify punishing Michigan, though.

One turnover was Turner whiffing on his block. That kid needs to nut up and get his shit together, because he is homerun hitter that we need on the field. It cant be Zach all the time. That dude is going to use up his collisions early in the year and not have anything left for the last 3 games of the year.
