Might as well get this up as 2023 kids have started to commit. Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln Top247 2023 linebacker Raylen Wilson announced his commitment to Michigan on Wednesday during a live broadcast on CBS Sports HQ. The blue-chipper who holds over 30 offers chose the Wolverines over his other finalist Georgia.

The 6-foot-2, 213-pound Wilson is tabbed by the Top247 as the country?s No. 4 linebacker and No. 62 prospect. He is commit No. 4 early in the cycle for head coach Jim Harbaugh and his staff.

3-Star WR Semaj Morgan.

Michigan has received their third commitment in the 2023 recruiting class with West Bloomfield (Mich.) junior Semaj Morgan.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound Morgan is a speedy wide receiver and return man who finished his junior season with 61 receptions for 1,015 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also had a kick return for a touchdown. His shiftiness and open-field ability make him a good fit in Josh Gattis' offense and could be used similarly to how the Wolverines deploy AJ Henning or Mike Sainristil.

Today's environment requires more emphasis on what school/team a kid wants to be at, IMO

The coaching carousel, especially among the coordinators and assistants, is too chaotic to use as the deciding factor. By the time the kids get on campus, those personnel will have changed, and will potentially change multiple times while on campus.

Have a ton of ground to make up if this is going to be a good class. Kind of depressing that it's ranked second to last in the conference after winning the B1G and going to the "playoffs" last year. The "transformative, not transactional" play is not working. Losing both coordinators and Harbaugh flirting with the NFL has likely been detrimental as well.

Michigan is being left on the dust because of our stand on NIL. Other teams are using it and we are not . Coming off our best season in 20 + years and we can?t get hardly any top players. Open the darn checkbooks please.

Dante Moore, our 5-Star QB target from Detroit (dad has a UM/anti-OSU tattoo), committed to Oregon today. He was our only 2023 QB target. Back to the drawing board.

Start paying the recruits. The NIL strategy is fundamentally wrong and beyond ignorant. 5-Star recruits and high 4-Stars have value. They have put in the work and busted their asses dedicating their lives to football. They've earned NIL opportunities.

Our program's stance on NIL is the equivalent of a pro league saying they are no longer going to pay rookies.
