And that wasn't even Cabrera's biggest shot of the week. Danny Worth took to Twitter Friday to say Cabrera had hit an even more improbable home run that day in batting practice.

"Miggy hit a ball over the fountain, out of the stadium dead central during BP today #unreal #besthitterinbaseball," he posted, describing a ball that traveled more than an estimated 500 feet.

Treat to watch him day in and day out. There's lots of speculation coming from the likes of Lynn Henning and other writers saying the Tigers might try to trade him before his contract ends...The thought of that makes my stomach turn. I hope we can lock him up for the next decade and he can finish his career as a Tiger.

I don't buy that for a second. I just can't see them trading Cabrera. I think Mr. I loves having multiple superstars on the roster and wants a HOF player to go in as a Tiger who played here in the Ilitch days, even if that's after he passes.

Yeah, I feel like they are just trying to stir stuff up to get their articles looked at, very much how Jim Rome and Stephen A Smith have gotten famous, and then if it happens they can look like geniuses. I really don't think we will trade Miggy unless we are an absolute bottom of the barrel team when that time comes.

Signing super stars to the end of their career usually is a bad move. They demand a shit load of money and the last several years of their contracts they are WAY over paid.

I would give Miggy a 12 year, $300MM contract right now if I could and it would be a bargain.

Seeing these Pujols, Fielder, Votto and Hamels deals, I can only imagine what JV and Miggy will command.

You know that's what they get. I rather get 5 years of awesome Miggy and 3 years of average Miggy than no Miggy.

I like the fact that Miguel isn't a pull hitter. Makes me feel like he will succeed deep into his 30's. Very good at going with the pitch, a ton of natural strength, feels like even as bat speed decreases it will hurt him less than your average slugger...as long as he doesn't get sloppy in his later years which is a big possibility, I could see him being a top hitter past his prime.

Weight will be his number 1 factor imo.

Those are my big concerns with Fielder. If his bat slows down and he lets himself go any farther, his contract could get ugly in a hurry.

He's not a dead pull hitter either though, but yes obviously I'm scared of his weight. If you take a look at Fielders chart, he hits to right field less than any other part of the park. (this year) He's had a solid approach.

All but 4 of his HR's have been to right though, when he hits for power, Prince is a dead pull hitter.

We didn't sign him to hit singles up the middle anyhow.

But a players weight is almost always a concern when they start getting older.

Right, but he's got that violent swing. That's the part where bat speed concerns me with him. Fortunately, he seems to have a really quick bat, so maybe it wouldn't be quite as big of an issue if he lost some speed there over time.

Yeah I'm not downplaying his weight at all...he's got to do something in the next couple of year because the likely hood of him staying at this weight already seems unrealistic with age..if he gains he could be in trouble. Not only could the swing slow down but the body could begin to break down as well.

If he's concerned with his weight he can lose it. I wonder if he is or if anyone mentions it too him. Miggy lost weight so Prince should be able to.

Yeah and he's not really a power hitter. He's a guy that can do it all that just happens to hit 30+ home runs. So when he's hitting 10 home runs I could see him still batting .320.

Cabrera lost weight in the offseason, and ST...but I'm willing to bet he's found most of it back.

I would think a ball player who is running around at 3B would not gain any back unless he's eating it.
