True Ink. But, with the skill this team had, a wildcard berth shouldve been a yearly ordeal. Just saying, 11-5, followed by an immediate loss as soon as it is possible shouldn't be bragged about all offseason. Get me?
Actually, I gotta say no, because I'm not sure why everyone keeps saying we have all this talent. What we have is a shit ton of high picks, but top 10 picks don't equal talent.
We had a first year coaching staff, which should have lowered expectations by a lot.
And before people start with the talent arguments, let's all be real a minute:
Suh? He's a beast, or so they say.. but he's been at the helm of one top notch defense in his career.
Fairley? Has half a season as much as Suh.
Calvin? Two playoff seasons in his career.
Stafford? Same two seasons as Calvin.
I mean, sure... on paper, we had a hell of a good team, but a team that has not produced much. Individually, they've broken records, put up numbers, and been top ranked.. but as an entire team, what have they really done?
This team which has not produced a whole lot, with it's "shitty QB" according to many around here, and it's underachieving defense, and it's aging WR, and it's half asses secondary.... went 11-5 and made the playoffs, and for some reason people on this board act like it's no big deal and a failure of a season.
I mean, listening to half this board's posters, we should be shocked this team can go 5-11, let alone 11-5. And listening to LKP, every season is a bust because they refuse to hand over the Lombardi Trophy when we win the "True Super Bowl" every god damned year.
I know I got to see my Detroit Lions play in the post season and win a hell of a lot more games than they lost, and to me, that is ALWAYS a big deal.
